Now I just seem to sit a chair wishing the pain would stop. I'd love to talk to other people going through the same, whatever the cause.

The movement that I had to do caused my back to spasm and I was having sharp, stabbing pain. Every movement made the pain worse. I took pain killers but it did not help. I have to do this work tomorrow and I do not think I can do 5 more hours of this.

Never heard of it but boy it’s painful can’t get breathe properly pain is unbearable all they can say is take painkillers and it should clear up on its own. Anybody else heard of this one.

My Physiotherapist advised using a Pain relieving gel - but I said they contain Ibuprofen and I'm not allowed that as I'm on Apixaban. He said ask a Pharmacist as 'they will know'. I'm not so sure about that as some Haematologists don't know about MPNs. Any advice please gratefully received.

In January 2023 I suddenly experienced severe back pain which was initially diagnosed as a back spasm. However, no amount of pain killers helped and I ended up in A&E where a CT scan showed that I had three spinal compression fractures.

RA is basically under control but I have ankle pain after walking saw a podiatrist a few months ago he thought Achilles issue nothing seems to be helping its worse after walking I have rocker shoes but bit hot at moment to wear. Orthotics make it worse too.

I have severe back pain everyday still and am taking painkillers as much as possible and im just not sure what is ‘normal’. any advice would be much appreciated xx

I suffer from a number of pain generating conditions and am trying to find a medication which addresses my acute pain, predominantly from a back condition where my lower hips, spine and neck have degenerated causing 24/7 acute pain.

For 1 year chronic pain epigastric region, which does not move, accentuated when standing and static standing and when I swell my stomach. Not particularly punctuated by food. Relieved when I lie down.

I think I have tried every pain medication an am now relegated to Bunov patches, but the pain breaks through. any body any ideas ?

Hello I have 2 types of pain - Mechanical pain from degenerative disc disease and nerve pain from trapped nerves.

Hi can anyone on this very knowledgeable site tell me what strong pain killers I can take. I have developed shingles and am struggling to control pain with just paracetamol. Thank you in advance. Pat

Hi, I suffer from arthritis and on Rituximab and methotrexate, so you’d think that I would be pain free all of the time 😬 but I’ve started to go for 30 minute walks but my back starts to seize up and hurt when I walk. Any tips on what to do to prevent this?

I am in constant pain and I think that is the reason I can’t sleep. The more pain I’m in the harder it is to sleep, the less sleep I get the more pain I am in. It’s a vicious cycle.

The reason being the upregulation of D1 receptor responsible for sensitivity to pain and abnormal sensations.

Hi for the past 10 years I have suffered from acute and chronic pain, mainly due to sciatica.

I went to my pain management Dr. he gave me lyraca and morphine for my pain, it has helped a lot. Going for a CT next week he thinks it’s a pinched nerve. He wants me to have a pain pump put in. It automatically puts pain medication in my body and then refil the pump every two or three months.
