Hi, I get occasional pain at rest. Have done for a few years. Sometimes during walking, classes, cycling etc. I’m 6 years post RAD stemi sudden heart attack. It usually happens in the winter. Don’t know where you live but it gets cold up here. This year I’ve had to avoid cycling/ long walking and increase the xtrainer. I never go out without a scarf over my mouth.
Has the tingling been recently? Sometimes stress ( like Christmas etc) can affect you. I wouldn’t say I was a stressed person at all but my body thinks differently 🙄. I can’t open your previous posts for some reason so don’t know if you had a heart attack (Troponin) or were stented ( less damage to muscle). BP ok?
I was told that my unstable angina was just my “new” heart blood vessels ,around the damaged area, grumbling because they are small. The discomfort being in the middle of my rib cage and tingling left arm. And yes, anything new to you, go see the gp. Be proactive. Love life ❤️
I had unstable angina and 3 stents (5 angiograms) in April and September 2023 aged 40
I’m Yorkshire so very cold too at moment l, I was starting to come off some of my meds but will need to speak to dr
I feel and worry that it may be blocked again but don’t want to have to go through the whole hospital thing of trying to argue my point over and over before something gets done
I get you . I’m 6 years on and still sometimes relive it. I used to take comfort in the fact that the cardiologist did a full MOT of my heart on the day and my other “tubes” all passed.
I was on Bisoprolol until 4 years ago. I became intolerant to it. bp up, hr up and unstable angina constantly. Wee spa day visit to cardiology 😆 and it was swapped it for Ivabradine. No more cold feet/ nose or out of breath climbing a wee mountain. . So, changing drug medication is sometimes beneficial. Sure all will go well with you. Don’t wait till your annual check up ..
Hi, I only wear it when it’s below 2c. I’ve learned that it helps keep my heart rate down when walking ( about 80 and without - 100). Cardio nurse recommended. Something to do with the cold air affecting the lungs and making the heart work faster. 6 years on and I still have to do it 🙄. Just life as it is now. Roll on springtime!
Hi, everybody’s HR is different. Mine is “controlled” by an alpha blocker ( post stemi heart attack). At rest, mine is 65. Walking around 80, going up a wee hill about 100. On xtrainer I aim to sit at 125 but usually peak up to 150 - which I shouldn’t be at - but hey ho.
It’s what I was told during my rehab. If my heart rate was 100 when walking I guess my HR on xtrainer would be starting at 145. Too much for my damaged heart muscle. I hope this explains? 😊
