Anybody here with ET and hearing impairment?
I was diagnosed with ET in my 20s but like many people here I often wonder how long I actually had the disease before I was diagnosed. I recently read an article that said ET can cause hearing loss which caught my attention because around the age of 15 I started having problems with my hearing. I often

Jaw pain and prednisolone
Evening all. Me again ! Each time I've seen a doctor on this whole gca journey, they've seemed to lose interest when I confess that I haven't had any jaw pain on chewing. ( despite the fact that we know that less than half of people with gca get jaw pain) In fact, the rheumatologist cited the absence

Toothache as a symptom of PMR?
Has anyone else had toothache around the time of diagnosis? I suffered for months with an aching jaw which gave me a dull ache in my teeth and ended up having an extraction which didn’t cure the problem. After being diagnosed with PMR it occurred to me that the jaw pain could have been associated with

Recently diagnosed AN
Hi, I've recently been diagnosed with a relatively small (3mm) AN. Only notable symptom to date is pulsative tinnitus (mainly in the evenings), occasionally feel unsteady on my feet (suffered from Labyrinthitis a few months ago, so wonder if more a psychological issue) & audiology test shows irregularity

Recovery following AN removal
A bit ago I wrote saying that my granddaughter has been diagnosed with a AN. Since then questions are going around our heads. The AN is quite large, just under 4cms, and wrapped around facial nerves as well as the ear nerves. They told her that following her operation she will be totally deaf and could

A very positive microsuction experience
Rather than wait for weeks to have my ears micro suctioned by the NHS, I booked the treatment at a private clinic and finally had it done today. I knew my left ear was totally blocked and the right one wasn't much better and I was very apprehensive about having it done but to be honest, the whole process

Hungarian Snacking Tray - Inspired!
I found this article on a click-bait type site, so I decided to share the image and the content, and a link (which you don't have to click) but to give credit to the author, but probably best not to click it. Anyways... I just loved the photo and the article and the great inspiration, and since summer

On Pred and going onto Methotrexate - help needed
HI, I am on 15 mg Prednisolone and my Rhuemy finally agreed to diagnose me with Palindromic Rheumatism )after 16 months on steroids) so he is putting me on Methotrexate which I will be starting tomorrow, so, should I also continue with the steroids - I know I will have to start a taper - just a bit confused

Post traumatic disorder towards notices since developing tinnitus? please help me
Hello, so I’ve just come back from holiday and find my anxiety is through the roof I haven’t slept one minute through this night and I am in desperate need of some advice. Going to sleep last night I noticed like an engine sound as if you’d hear on a plane and I totally latched to it and can’t stop hearing

No running for 3 weeks :(
So, I’m feeling a little bit deflated as I got to week 9 and completed run 1 whilst completing race for life (3 weeks ago) & ended up with a badly sprained foot! So, I’ve not done any running since. Any ideas of what week I should go back to, hopefully this week, as the pain seems to have eased? Gutted

watermelon & low blood pressure
Just in case no one else knows, watermelon lowers your blood pressure. In my case my blood pressure got to 103 and I felt bad. Very dizzy. I was eating a lot of it for a week as it was so hot out and cold, sweet watermelon was so refreshing. Ack!! Beware the delicious watermelon (or don't be a pig

Looking for recommendations for private tinnitus treatment please.
I have high-pitched ringing, permanent tinnitus and slight hearing loss in the same ear. The other ear has a slight ringing noise. It began 2 years ago following an extremely stressful period in my working and personal life (loss of job and bereavement). I have seen my GP 2 or 3 times. I have also seen

Lung congestion
I suffer from bronchiectasis and I am asking if a drug has been developed that reduces the amount of mucus forming. If so I think it would reduce the frequency of the needs to cough up and clear the lungs?
