Newspaper deliveries
Many of the elderly people who live in my village are having newspapers delivered by the village shop. They think that it's safe because the delivery man wears gloves. How daft are people? The delivery man comes into contact with many people every day so he will certainly get covid soon. He will be contagious

Running and ear dousing seems to help a constant hum in my right ear but...
Hi Everyone, First forum I’ve ever used and I hope everyone is staying safe during the virus. In the meantime, I’ve had a ringing in my ear for almost 3 weeks now; it’s driving me a bit insane and waking me up most nights. I wanted to explain my symptoms and how they came on to see if anyone can

Good ol days. Can you relate?
I am the oldest of 5.. Eating out at a restaurant was a huge deal that only happened for very special occasions . We didn’t have fast food on every corner. Fast food was a cheese or pb&j sandwich to take outside in the yard. Eating ice cream was a treat on a hot day. You took your school clothes off

Should I go into the pharmacy myself?
My husband ordered medication for both of us last week. Our daughter in law went into fetch it today. His won't be ready until tomorrow and they have no trace of mine. They told my DIL that I should ring the surgery. The are not taking calls. The pharmacy is constantly engaged. Would it be dangerous

Surgery postponed
I recently got diagnosed with a large acoustic neuroma of 2x2.7 cm. I spoke to my consultant yesterday via the phone and she said surgery is the next step. The only problem is because of the Coronavirus it won’t be till we’ll over 6 months. I’m on the waiting list but it’s all very scary. I am 33 with

My left ear is whooshing with my heartbeat
Hi all ~ Well, 3 weeks ago I started experiencing "Pulsatile Tinnitus" (which is *not* tinnitus, but rather a whoosh that thumps in rhythm with your pulse). I haven't seen a doctor yet -- because corona -- & it's difficult to find much helpful info on this condition. As you can imagine, with body-focused

In a pickle
So, I have my first post op check for ankle replacement tomorrow and I was all set, with my niece, who is a nurse at the general hospital, giving me a lift in. However, she had just informed me that her colleague who she was with all day, the colleagues husband is showing symptoms, which effectively

Not mine
One of my sweet friends shared this yesterday and I haven’t been able to quit thinking about it. So important to focus on the good in order to keep a healthy mind. I did not write this but felt compelled to share: Lockdown Yes, there is fear. Yes, there is isolation. Yes, there is panic buying.

Hi, my wife and I are expecting our first child and unfortunately she has been diagnosed with dextrocardia situs inversus. Fortunately her heart structure has been looked at today and it is completely healthy and normal! They did mention that there is a link with this condition and PCD. My question

Hearing test
Has anybody else suffered from hearing loss? Just had Audiologist home visit and assured me that RA was responsible even though my Consultant said it wasn't! Who's right?

Covid-19
The UK Chief Medical Officer has just said something very interesting, at least I hadn’t heard this before. Covid-19 is a two stage virus. First stage is flu. Most people never progress but stage 2 is viral pneumonia. The old and those with chronic diseases are more likely to move to this stage. Some

Hi So still waiting on diagnosis and seeing rheumatologist! I had fillings today my tinnitus feels worse and I feel a bit more dizzy Is it normal for people who have lupus to recover a bit slower if that makes sense ? Bit of a headache and trying not to worry as it went fine and all’s okay just like

Hello - new member.
I kick myself now for not reading the
Otomize
spray
information leaflet first. I've always hated putting anything into my
ear
but I just went ahead and followed the doctors advice. The hearing has decreased but I'm wondering if that's just down to further blockage of the grommet.

Spanish holidays
Hi everyone and greetings from sunny Andalucia where we, and the whole of Spain are in lockdown. Yesterday afternoon the raised level of alarm led to a decree to restrict movement of people.. we are to stay in our homes , the only valid reasons for leaving your home are to buy essential food and household

Is it wise to fly
Hi I’ve recently had a virus with ear infection affecting both ears. It’s resulted with me having perforated eardrums and there is still some discharge in one ear. I already have hearing loss but with the infection am still completely deaf in one ear. Am flying in 3 days time and wondered if this is

Cochlear implants
Hi,, I’m beginning to sound like a broken record. I have a cochlear implant , debating whether it’s been worth all of the hassle of having it in as it’s been painful. Has anyone out there had great success with theirs ? Thanks Jenny 😊
