I'm trying orange overlays to help me to read without the pain in my head and sizzling in my head. I was disappointed as felt irritated and although could read it hurt.pains shooting up the back of myour head again. Nose vibrate and ears popping.

It might of been a coincidence but I was ill that night . Couldn't get my head comfot able. Skull ultra tight. Couldn't seem to move without the risk of going dizzy. Then the next morning a headache. I've spoken then written to The university about my problems. Thankyou Pinkvision. I'm waiting for a reply. I'm hoping seeing a behaviour Optometrist can help. I'm worried about the winter as at present in bed before dark. Artificial light a real problem. I've had a shift in symptoms. Trying to be positive this is a good sign. Every day a struggle still. I'm never pain free .mostly skull and eyes.

Hi if you can't get anything done over your end of the country I'll give you the details of two places to go but they are near Manchester.

Hi Nackapan, you have been on my mind. Can ask what type of lighting you have in your house? Also when you lay in the dark especially after sleep does your head feel more settled?

I have had all florescent lighting taken out of the house. Now have LED soft lighting .

It takes some time to get my head comfy. I get alotinnitis of skull tightening. Sometimes more comfortable if my eyes atracks kept open for a while

I usually burn aromatherapy essential oils and sit uo for some time before I csn lay down. I'm often with skull pain if not a headache . Also can have nausea or shakiness. Fortunately the latter is improving. I csn tolerate the landing light on so a bit of background light.

I had an email just now from the University. The man I spoke to had been on leave.

My head and noise /sizzling and pains behind my eyes do settle. I think it's the dark but also simply the quiet and not using my eyes.

Thank you for your reply

Hope you are getting on okay.

Hi good news from the university I hope. I had all the skull tension, pain behind the eyes and all the visual problems too for 14 months before I got the vision tests and my glasses. The tension and pain behind the eyes disappeared over night, the pattern glare and much of the other visual issues calmed down. I have problems with LED light as well as fluorescent, it's to do with the frequency the light is emitted at, this maybe affecting you too, it's worth thinking about. I have to be sedated in hospital if I am there for more than half an hour because my brain goes into a stress response and I pass out.

Anyway have got my fingers crossed for you.

Oh goodness. That stress response tohospital lighting sounds horrendous. I had the worst painful migrain that went on for 3 days after my last hospital appointment. Most scary. Too scared to dIal 999 to be taken back there. !!

I thought Led didn't sound right. I looked at the thermaspec advice on lighting for light sensitivity. The electrician thought this right as less blue light??there are 2 sorts. It's very hard to get the old fashioned halogen bulb now. What lighting if any can you tolerate?

I'm 10 months in so really hope the university can help because of the distance.

I'm so glad after all that time you have some relief . It must've been amazing.

Will keep you posted. TC

I use a very dim energy saver down in one corner in the house at night, I brighter light only when I need it. Life in daylight is much better but I avoid bright sunlight, I hope for cloudy skies. The glasses are a life saver, it was like living in a permanent LSD trip before.

That's exactly how I've described it. On drugs . In a goldfish bowl. everything too bright and noisy and busy. I take in too much information around me it seems. I start to stagger and go ashen.

The hospital environment the worst as are shops. I only zip in and put a food shop with a big hat on. I used to work in a hospital as well in a very brightly lit special care. To think recently I went to the dentist thinking some of the pain might be my teeth

They were really good. I had a thick flannel over my eyes. Peeping out the bottom to see the floor to get in. The good news was my teeth remarkably okay at present. Then shook outside for a while and got home.

I used to work with young children in a noisy bright environment. I couldn't enter a school now.

I've had to ask people to cover stripey clothing ect. Cant look at a magazine cover. Wear plain clothes.Given away 'too busy patterned clothing .Some have responded badly to me. Many friends seem to be disappearing. Not the ones I thought would. I think they scared? ?

I'm so much happier on overcast days

I'm okay in natural daylight ...well okayish.

My neighbours are great. I'm glad they knew me before all this.

I made a new post on lighting.

Thanks again . It's so hard to explain to people. My Gp just stares at me blankly and offers antidepressants which I've not taken. Had a trial on amitriptyline to try and reduce headaches but came off if it after 3 weeks with great difficulty.

The latest drug a neurologist prescribed we propranolol. I wasn't convinced so not taken that either.

I've on 2 occassions taken 1mg of diazepam when I've found the tightness unbearable. It does relax the muscles so you csn sleep. Must stop. Just such a relief someone gets it. Take care

hi make sure to write all the visual issues down ready for the university, the problem with looking at patterns is called pattern glare and can be treated with the correct lenses, really.
