Private Hearing Aids?
Hi I recently had a private hearing test and tried out two new hearing aids at The Hearing Clinic UK. I could hear the consonant sound 'th' for the first time in years and my own voice sounded much better. It normally sounds stretchy and tinny with my NHS hearing aids. I have sensorineural hearing loss

Awaiting AN treatment
I had noticed progressive hearing loss and tinnitus in right ear and had put it down to noise exposure. I was fitted with a hearing aid in July 2020 and was referred for MRI as a precautionary measure. I had confirmation of 1.5 cm AN in November (COVID delays). It was suggested to wait 12 month for

Possible Borderline Hypothyroidism
Hi, I am new to this forum but after test results reading all I can. After not feeling well for a couple of years after a major op I asked my GP for an iron test. Iron was fine, but she also tested for thyroid which I have never had before. Reading other posts and articles, it looks like I could

Dizzy spells
On Friday I went all dizzy and had to sit down at work. I work as a breakfast chef and when the DM came outside to tell me there is a check on and come back to cook breakfast I could not! I couldn't stand up without falling over and when I tried to move my head everything was spinning! Horrible horrible

Mother & Son bonding whilst running
I absolutely love running with my adult son, finding the time to run early on a Sunday morning is just awesome. Its just a shame that it takes me (53 years old) at least 10 minutes to find my pace. We like to do 5k, today it was done in 37 minutes a pb for us both. I still find it a mental challenge

Acupuncture to Manage Pain?
Hi everyone! I am just wondering if anyone has tried acupuncture therapy for managing abdominal issues/pain and how it worked out for you? I have read that some oncologists do suggest acupuncture to their patients who have had gynecological surgery and curious about any real life examples of success.

Just started taking Horizant
I just started taking Horizant. I have been on Percocet for over 15 years. But I wanted to see if I could take something else as I start taking the percocet at 5:00 PM and take a half pill every hour until 11:00 when I turn the lights off in my bedroom and go to sleep. It has worked very well but

Immunocompromised and Active Virus Vaccine
I’m currently on 6.5mg/day prednisolone for PMR. My 6 week old granddaughter has just received her first Rotavirus live vaccine. Is there any risk for me being around her and if so, how, long should I should I keep my distance?

Tinnitus and Pfizer Vaccine
Just wanted to post an update. Went for my Pfizer booster last week, and was asked for the first time about whether I had any side effects from the previous injections. I spoke about the onset of tinnitus after the vaccine. I was then seen by a doctor who informed me that tinnitus is now registered

Who to go to first for help in private sector?
I have had a blocked ear and tinnitus since an ear infection in the summer which did not respond either to antibiotics or otomise spray. I am on a waiting list to see an NHS ENT specialist since I have only ever seen a nurse practitioner who told me she was unable to see anything as my ear canal is

Green juices
I was so sick yesterday afternoon and evening😔 I blended carrotts, neroli kale and tomato. As well as a bit of tumeric fresh root, maca powder and spirula. I am not sure if there may have been a bit of bacteria on it. It was horrible being sick and the tummy ache / pain. I didn't do any significant

What should I be asking my Audiologist
It was March this year when my Tinnitus increased to unbearable levels. it has remained more or less the same with occasional spikes. I had hearing aids fitted which has helped. I still find it difficult to concentrate. I have named my bedroom "The torture chamber" as this is by a long way the time of

Repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation
Hi all, I have recently commenced repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) and am at the half-way mark so thought I'd give an update as to how it's going. I initially started with a high frequency (excitatory) protocol but found that unbearable in that it seemed to make things worse. So, I

Post Vaccine Dizziness and Tinnitus
Hello - I've previously commented on my post 2nd vax AZ and onset of tinnitus. I didn't get (or at least I didn't think I did) any side effects from the first dose. Last week or so, a further side effect kicked in out of the blue - dizziness and vertigo in bed at night- swirling room, the works. It
