Hi All. New member here.
I found this site after being utterly fed up and frustrated. A little back story first: I'm 53, male and I live in England. About a decade ago I noticed after a gig I attended as a punter that the usual "ringing in the ears" was taking longer than usual to go away, then after a few more weeks realised

upping steroids short term to boost recovery?
writing on behalf of my mum who is getting over a respiratory tract infection (or not getting over it to be precise). She has long PMR (getting on 40 yr) and is constantly trying to reduce pred. I recall reading in this forum a recommendation to temporarily increase dose when ill / having surgery etc

Promethazine sleeping tablets following insomnia and increased episodes amnesia
So my T journey continues. I would say insomnia has been the biggest problem through out but I thought I'd learned to live with it. However, it certainly seems it may be catching up with me (I posted about this last month ago - but I'll recap briefly). I had what appeared to be an isolated episode

Pulsatile tinnitus
Hi there. Does anyone else have pulsatile T. Mostly it comes and goes, always one-sided as the T is that side. I can make it go away by turning my head to the opposite side. But when i turn it back the T comes back. Shrugging my shoulders helps as well as stretching my neck. Have spoken to the doctor

Somatic tinnitus
Hi All, I have had T for 7 months. It isn’t hearing related. However, as I have been on this journey, I have noticed that I have the T constant 24/7 that often changes with random spikes. However, I am also experiencing somatic T that I wasn’t fully aware of before. I was diagnosed with TMD and have

Is blood pressure medication making your tinnitus worse?
Hi all, I have had tinnitus for 30 years after playing in a loud band. I've recently been diagnosed with high blood pressure and been prescribed Doxazosin which has sent the volume of my tinnitus through the roof. I was wondering if anyone else had similar experiences?

Inner Ear condition
Hi Does anyone have another autoimmune condition affecting inner ear? I’ve had a couple of bouts of ‘acute labyrinthitis’ often have itching in one ear that can get quite sore, constant tinnitus and intermittent hearing loss in same ear. How Long For A Referral?
I had a hearing test some years ago and was told there was between 10% and 30% loss in my left ear depending on frequency. Two years ago I had a bad bout of the Delta variant. I was bedridden for two weeks. At the same time my voice changed and my hearing deteriorated. My voice returned to normal (I

Bisoprolol
Hi, I've been feeling dizzy, lightheaded and was wondering if Bisoprolol Fumarate 5 mg that I have been taking every day for a few years could be the cause of my discomfort. I would appreciate any comments and advice.

I have had T since January of 2023 - Started off light, had days of not hearing it and then awful days and then constant since the end of March - As of late I do have a few decent days, it's the emotional part of it that is the worst for me because I know it's something I can't control, and I like being

Likelihood of hearing loss after gamma knife
Hi All, I’m a 40y/o woman diagnosed with an AN a year ago. I have had a follow up MRI and unfortunately the AN is growing and I’ve been recommended to undergo gamma knife surgery within the next year. I had very mild hearing loss upon diagnosis but surprising it improved and my hearing is technically

Questions about experience with rinvoq
Have had to stop rinvoq a few times lately due to infections, this last time I stopped rinvoq for ear infection for 5 days. The infection has not cleared up so they're giving me another antibiotic for 10 days. I was just wondering if most people have a flare when stopping rinvoq for that length of

No more propafenone!!!! What???
I'm in the U.S., diagnosed PAF ~3 years ago. Have achieved excellent control with propafenone (Rythmol). My pharmacy informed me they cannot refill my prescription, as there is a supply side problem with propafenone. From what I have read, there is a dangerous shortage of propafenone in the U.S and
