I am seeing here in this article that being immune compromised itself is a risk factor for it:

ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/books/NBK5...

It's under the "History and Physical" section, and there is a reference to that statement if you are interested. It seems this has been noted mostly in HIV patients, they were listed under specific Risk Factors.

I found one instance of septic arthritis listed in a patient on a different BTK inhibitor (zanubrutinib) with a different disease state (Waldenström' Macroglobulinemia)

Thank you yes I have looked into this and it seems immune deficiency patients are highly likely to develop this and it can be caused by bacteria etc even a insect bite from another area of the body which travels through the bloodstream and infects a joint as you say viruses like HIV ,herpes ,cold, flu can all lead to bacteria that can cause the infection I'm on the mend now walking about with a limp still got another 3 days of antibiotics to take want to find out exactly what they found as I was sent to hospital with suspected septic arthritis but they found nothing on the X ray and didn't really say much about my bloods other then my whites were raised and gave me antibiotics as a precaution they seem to be working so maybe I did have a infection however the NHS is very much patch up and move on so time will tell

Probably - mine was in the little finger of my right hand, the littlest joint near my finger tip. I live in south Manchester, and I was referred to consultant 2 days before the dreadful Arena Bomb attack. Hence it was a couple of months before I saw a consultant. Mine was diagnosed as osteomyelitis of unknown origin, in the joint and bone. When they did blood tests, they found I have CLL. We never did work out the cause, and although antibiotics helped somewhat, it needed surgery in my case - but that was nearly a year after I first felt the pain.
