Elevated Oestradiol
I’ve been suffering from frequent heavy periods and constant spotting for over a year. Around a year ago I had some blood tests and a pelvic scan - pelvic scan clear but my bloods showed my oestradiol to be elevated at 600 ( top of range 400). My problem has continued, I’m covered in acne and irritable

If Mirena doesn’t stop pain, it’s not endo?
Following a “probable” diagnosis of endo my gynae fitted a Mirena coil and I had to see her three months later. Whilst periods were a fraction of what they’ve been for years and much less painful other pelvic pains still continue. She said that because I still had pain it can’t be endo. Is this right

total meltdown - endo and coil ruining my relationship?
Hi ladies I'm am so desperately searching for answers, and I thought you might empathise with my situation. I've had barely any libido since January, when I had my second laparoscopy and mirena coil fitted. This is starting to become a problem for me and my partner. I've also gained a fair amount of

To coil or not to coil...
I am due to have my surgery with a BSGE specialist in London at the end of this month, she would like to fit the Mirena Coil during. I have had the coil before and it helped my pain and symptoms for a solid 8 months, but then I had it removed as the pain returned and my mental health started to suffer

Mirena Coil Pain: is this normal?
I had the mirena coil fitted five weeks ago during my first diagnostic laparoscopy where endometriosis was diagnosed. They didn’t remove any tissue, because that’s not how they do it at that hospital; the first laparoscopy is purely diagnostic. I have a follow-up appointment with them on the 31st.

Now what? Take co-codamol!
I’ve always had extremely heavy, painful periods and needed the help of clomid to conceive my children. After years of intermittent pain and now 2 years of constant pain I’ve seen colorectal consultants, urologist and a gynaecologist. I never thought that it was a bowel problem but went through the

Pain worst when ovulating
Hi everyone, I'm undiagnosed but having laparoscopy at the end of the month. I'm starting to question myself now and worried that it's all in my head. I have the mirena coil which has helped massively with the heavy bleeding and pain but I'm finding ovulation the worst time of the month. Bloating, bleeding

Really struggling with possible IBS
Hello, sorry if this is a bit long but I am suffering so much at the moment I'm finding it nigh on impossible to have any sort of normal life. For the past two years, I have been having odd IBS like symptoms, but up until about 6 months back it wasn't troublesome really, just the odd sudden bad trip

Heavy bleeding
Just wondered if anyone has had the Mirena coil to control heavy bleeding? Gynaecology recommended it to me as I am having very heavy bleeding at times. After having fertility treatment and a very traumatic birth, I'm a tad nervous about messing around with my hormones using birth control and I think

Hi there! I’ve been diagnosed with Endo for almost 7 years now, since I was 12/13 I’ve tried out roughly 11 pills, 2 injections and have had 2 operations. I was suggested to see a Chronic Pain Specialist and to also try alternative treatments such as this type of coil. Is there anyone here who has

Sex after laparoscopy and Mirena fitting
Hello again ladies! Just a quick question really as above, when do you generally resume sex after the laparoscopy? I'm 16 days post operation now and recovering mostly ok, been back to the hospital twice for check ups as had some bad pains related to the Mirena and also pushing myself a bit too much

Pre-diagnosis
Hi all :) just seen the gynaecologist and as you all know it’s hard to diagnose. Just wondering people’s thoughts on the laparoscopy? I’ve already had the marina coil for 8/9 years but only symptomatic in last year so wanted to see who is for or against it? I’m only 28 and having children is important

Mirena fitting - extreme pain
Hi guys. I’ve had the Mirena fitted today, recommended as a treatment for my endo. I have to say it was one of the most painful things I have ever had done; my body went into full shock, shaking, sweats, vomiting. The doctor said it should have been done under GA in hindsight (wish they’d done it during

Advice needed - mirena coil
Hi girls, just after a bit of advice. Had the mirena coil fitted a year ago, was having 2-3monthly bleeds and was hoping they were getting more and more apart. But the past two months I've had monthly bleeds near enough exactly a month to the date. They are so painful but not as heavy as they used to

Mirena and other hormonal therapy options
Hi all, What is your opinion about Mirena? I am playing with that as an option, but site effects make me scared. Also is there anyone who did not consider any hormonal therapy. My surgeon is saying if I am not going to do that my condition will just get worse and worse. I have migranes with aura, so
