Sex after laparoscopy and Mirena fitting

Hello again ladies!

Just a quick question really as above, when do you generally resume sex after the laparoscopy? I'm 16 days post operation now and recovering mostly ok, been back to the hospital twice for check ups as had some bad pains related to the Mirena and also pushing myself a bit too much causing some more pain, but apart from that I'm generally well and stitches have healed brilliantly apparently! Obviously I have to wait for the bleeding to stop down there (it feels never ending!) before even considering attempting to have sex, I'm just quite nervous as before my operation sex was pretty much impossible due to the pains I was having. I'm having a bit of the pain now but I'm assuming that's with everything healing and being moved about. It would just be really nice to be able to be close to my husband again if you know what I mean?!

I had my surgery in August then a mirena coil fitted but after 6 weeks after surgery sex was more painful than before surgery so I assume it has to do with the coil. Plus now I'm gaining weight rapidly and feeling bloated all the time. You need to be patient with yourself and also try to be close to your husband so he won't feel rejected. This condition is a bitch. Certain sex positions are definitely less painful than others so you need to take it slowly and see what works for both of you. Hope this all makes sense...
