Mirena vs dienogest after surgery?
Hi everyone, hope you're ok. My consultant wants me to have a mirena in during my surgery, but I have done some research and seen that dienogest is possibly better for preventing recurrence (especially of cysts). I also like the idea of taking a pill that I am in control of, rather than having the coil

Mirena Coil gone? 😕
Hi All, Recently I've experienced a new symptom, after urination and wipe there is blood, can be a lot. Also getting very hot, and actually feel ill pass out. I've got endometriosis, so bleeding after sex, painful tummy etc is normal for me. I checked the strings on my coil, and I couldn't feel them

PMDD, Endo and the Marina Coil
Hi Everyone, This is my first time posting in this group. I was officially diagnosed with Recto Vaginal Endo at the end of last year after 15 years. I've since had it removed and been put on the Marina Coil. Physically I'm so much better than I was but I started getting really depressive episodes

Zoladex and mirena removal - blood loss?
I wonder if anyone has any experience of this. I had two three month courses of zoladex two years ago with mirena in situ and didn't have any bleeds. My mirena at the time stopped my periods completely. They changed my mirena Feb 2020 during my most recent lap and I have had 2+ week bleeding every month

Mirena
I had a mirena coil put in last September as I’ve got fibroids. All has been ok no bleeding for the last 6 months. Had a routine smear test yesterday and the nurse couldn’t see the strings so I now have to go for a scan. Anyone else has this problem ?

Hi guys, I'm new here and just looking for some advice. Bit of background, im 21 and I've been struggling with suspected endo since I was 15, horrendous pain, heavy bleeds and so on. I've finally seen a gyno and I have an appointment in 2 days for a hysteroscopy and to have the mirena fitted. I'm pretty

Painful & Prolonged Period After Lap + Mirena
Hey all. Any insight on this would be really helpful. I had my first laparoscopy with a specialist consultant in Ireland, alongside excision of stage 2 endo and a Mirena coil inserted during the op. My recovery was great, but as my period was due 10 days post op I was unsure if I would have one. It

What’s wrong with me?!?!!!!
I’m a little bit lost...I’ve been seeing a doctor(s) for about 4 years with severe pelvic pain, heavy bleeding, irregular bleeding and bloating etc all endo symptoms. Multiple hospital stays and too many tears. I’ve had ultrasounds that have been clear and sometimes cysts. I had a lap last month and

on the list for laparoscopy!
I had my consultation today in the endometriosis clinic and although the consultant was a little bit blunt, he has put me on the waiting list for a diagnostic laparoscopy which I'm so relieved about. It's the outcome I wanted. Now of course is the waiting period! I do work at the hospital where I'll

Merina Coil reviews?
Hey all, My doctor wants to put me on the merina coil and I am feeling really unsure about it. She wants to stop my periods - i have moderate endometriosis (two large cysts on each ovary and my womb is stuck to the back of my uterus) I'm only 24, so they don't want to do any surgery on me yet, and

Mirena coil or pill - experiences/opinions?
Hi all, New to the group - quick(ish) summary of my situation: Came off contraceptive pill (Rigevidon) in November last year, having been on it for around 8 years, and in January began experiencing constant pelvic pain, much like menstrual cramps but on a daily, unrelenting basis. Painkillers had limited

Mirena pain/discharge
I don't have an endo diagnosis but it is suspected and I have had the coil fitted today to help with the pain. Is it normal to have brown discharge/bleeding almost immediately after insertion (Less than 2 hours later)? Also, the fitting was extremely painful, especially the speculum being inserted/opened

Dienogest & Mirena
Hi ladies I'm after a bit of advice. I have stage 4 endo already had loads of surgeries ; bowel resection, uretic stents, stoma etc. The only further surgery the hospital will do is a total clearance and as I'm only 34 they won't consider that and I understand that the risk of doing so are quite high

Coil Removal due to Mental Health
Hi I’m turning to here because I feel like I have nowhere else to go I’m 20 with a one year old and I had the Mirena coil fitted mid February. Physically everything was fine apart from mild cramping, however it wasn’t the one I wanted!! I asked and thought I had the copper coil fitted until I got home

Interaction of Mirena Coil and Thyroid Levels
Hi all. Can anyone advise on interactions between Mirena Coil and Thyroid Levels? I have finally got control of my Thyroid Levels with the right medication and diet, but suffering from intermuscular fibroids. My ferritin remains low, which GP thinks is linked to fibroids. Any help/ advice will be great

Pain and cycle worsen after mirena?
Hi there endobabes! I was hospitalised for 3 days due to my endometriosis and they put me on antibiotics as my ovarian cysts accumulated infectiom (as they say). But ever since I have been fitted with Mirena, I have now whole pelvic pain where I can walk properly and my menstrual cycles doubled up.

Pain remedy pack - does yours look like this?
Hi my lovely pen pals! You know what? Our section here for Q&A often reads like purgatory. Lots of us land in when we're at our lowest. But, things can get better. So, I wanted to share what's in my "pain remedy pack" because.... Drum roll, I went for a walk at normal speed and didn't have to slow or
