I had my consultation today in the endometriosis clinic and although the consultant was a little bit blunt, he has put me on the waiting list for a diagnostic laparoscopy which I'm so relieved about. It's the outcome I wanted.
Now of course is the waiting period! I do work at the hospital where I'll be having it done so hopefully can pull some strings... I'm just so eager to have it done and find out once and for all if I have endometriosis (and if so, what stage).
He did mention that regardless of the outcome, I'll need to have either the Mirena coil or the injection to manage bleeding. I don't want the coil as I'm not sexually active and it makes me feel uncomfortable, so most likely I'll go for the injection. Does anyone have any experience with either treatment?
If anyone has had a lap done before, please let me know how your experience went. I understand the basic procedure but just any anecdotes etc you may have would be so wonderful xx

Hi! Thank you It’s such a relief. He said that I would need them to manage the bleeding, as well as other treatments if it’s endometriosis. He said I’d need them either way.
I’m currently on the mini pill anyway but I don’t want to be on it for the rest of my life! I started when I was young (about 14).
There are other options to help with bleeding rather than just birth control if you didn't want to be on it forever but it'd obviously be something you'd have to discuss with your Dr.
Middle of May I go for my op. Excited, nervous, happy! I'm dreading the drive home as it's a 2hr drive and no doubt I'll need to stop for a wee at the services.. That'll be an experience haha.
