asthma action plan trouble
Hi! It is a long time since I was last here. I have been so well for so long which makes me forget to look. I am still well bar a few hiccups. My issue is with my Asthma action plan. My surgery now puts them online somewhere, and I cannot find mine, any of them for the last 2-3-4 years. I will raise

Blood test with GP want to be armed with information
Hi I am due to have a blood test with my GP surgery for my thyroid. This is the annual one. I use a combination of levo and also use NDT which I source myself. My GP isn’t aware of my NDT nor do I have any intention of telling them. Every year since my old GP retired it is a constant battle to

my day took a dive.
My brother was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. His surgery early this morning revealed the cancer had spread undetected. They ended the procedure and sent him home giving him 6 months to live. Life seems random and impersonal. My son’s dog Roxie understands.

Dialysis the only Option??
My husband had emergency surgery to repair an aortic aneurysm which lasted well over 9 hours, as a result the blood flow to the kidneys was tied off and they are not working at all, GFR 6. The hospital has placed him on 3xweek dialysis, they are not offering any other options, are there any? They have

Pseudomonas infection post laparotomy
Dear ladies, Has any of you had this problem post surgery? I’ve been having issues with my wound since they removed the staples 10 days post op. I’ve also had a low grade fever coming and going from the 3rd day post op. I am now 3 and a half weeks post op and I found out today I have pseudomonas aeruginosa

To be or not to be Immuno-suppressed? That is the Question!
Since the covid vaccination program began, I've very deliberately had every single booster offered....7 in total. I've always felt that protecting myself from catching covid is both sensible and responsible. However, I've not been able to have this years spring booster yet as I cannot have the Moderna

This morning I had a COPD review unexpectedly (isn't due until October) done by a Nurse Associate.... N.A. Are you breathless at all ? Me. Yes. The End. It will be interesting to see if my management plan for Emphysema is updated and copied to me as in previous two years. I am still stunned by

"Intetesting conversation with Endocrinologist!"
Got a phone call just now from endocrinology, my cortisol test at GP' surgery was 1 56, she said that's good, it shows things are working....I am on 4.5mg......I said this must be taken into account I suppose?....she said we will get you an ACTH test done, if it's 250, that's regarded as normal. ...

Missing period...
Following a baseline scan a endometrial polyp was found pausing my treatment. I had the polyp removed in June and I think I had a period just after my surgery (I was due the day of my procedure) but couldn't say what was period or post procedure bleed. Long story short I haven't had a period since mid

Coronary angiogram
Hi - Janmat back again! Had my coronary angiogram and all went well although the aftermath wasn’t great! Couldn’t stop the bleeding and I have ended up with a very, very bruised hand and arm from the pressure involved 🥴. Good news is though the angiogram showed that the damage to my heart is not as

High Cholesterol
My wife has a pacemaker: the result of an investigation into infrequent episodes of syncope. As part of the investigative process she was fitted with a 14 day holter monitor which detected one episode of paroxysmal AF. She was prescribed Edoxaban. On the advice of her cardiologist she also takes peridoprol

DBS surgery for Parkinson’s patient.
I am a 82 year old male and was diagnosed with Parkinson’s 10 years ago. My neurologist is recommending that I have a DBS surgery to deal with my symptoms. He indicated that overtime medication is less effective and this is my best option. I’m hopeful that some who have had it will share their

It's not always liver!
So after a flare up of acute pancreatitis that left him bedridden, when hubby got better last week I was hoping we'd seen the back of illness for a while. Last night he rapidly started coming down with UTI symptoms that rapidly progressed to kidney pain. 111 referred us to out of hours, out of hours

Stormy 2nd Surgery
My poor pup has to have surgery again tomorrow morning to remove his dew claw. It just hasn’t healed properly and now it’s coming off. I’m dreading the thought of two more weeks of keeping it wrapped and him having this surgery. Apparently, it is a big deal for a dog to have it removed. The vet called

PD to HD
Hi everyone. A few months ago I talked about how my exit site was getting infected and how my doctor referred me for a fistula surgery for HD. Oh well, I had the surgery last week Thursday and I’m home healing a little at a time. I’m still doing PD and I have to wait for 2 months or there about to heal
