PD to HD
Hi everyone. A few months ago I talked about how my exit site was getting infected and how my doctor referred me for a fistula surgery for HD. Oh well, I had the surgery last week Thursday and I’m home healing a little at a time. I’m still doing PD and I have to wait for 2 months or there about to heal

Told I have COPD
Good Evening, I have asthma and Interstitial Lung Disease (ILD). I use inhalers to manage my asthma; and ambulatory oxygen for my ILD. I am under Papworth Hospital for my ILD. Twice in recent months, I have been called by my surgery to have a COPD review. The first appointment I had with the nurse confused

Critical Illness claim rejected
Anyone any experience in challenging a critical illness rejection? The insurer is claiming I was reckless in completing the form. Currently with the Ombudsman who believes It was careless mirepresentation as opposed to deliberate or wreckless. But have just replied to the ombudsman as it too appears

I believe we have a few members who have posted about this in the past. I'm a PMR long termer diagnosed in Nov 2017 and currently taking 2.5mg Prednisolone. In June 2023 I had a revision of refractive surgery to both eyes at a world leading specialist centre in London. The procedure is known to affect

Increase injections?
I currently self inject once a week - I started about 3 months ago as I was having lots of pins and needles and burning in my hands, arms and feet. GP agreed to 10 weekly injections and I’ve continued with those without mentioning the self injecting. I always had a really strong reaction one or two days

Waiting for the day
Hi all. Its quite emotional for me as I have had a fair old journey to come back to starting the couch to 5k for a second time. My first was before lockdown and, even though i was not able to complete the graduation run as our group was cancelled due to covid, i continued to run. I built up my fitness

Hashi's swings?
Hello lovely people! I've seen people here talking about hashi swings. I'm not yet diagnosed or medicated, but I'm just wondering if these swings can cause such big changes in just a few days? I did a medichecks full test, and finally got a test through the NHS after asking the nurse at surgery. The

I turned 47 yesterday, and I've never bothered about aging before but today I feel sad and old and ugly.
I've been in remission from severe MDD for over 3 years. I had minor bouts when younger but I developed peripartum depression with my last child and it lasted 4 1/2 years. I was hospitalized 10 times, tried 16 different medications, ECT, ketamine, TMS. It was a horrific time of my life and I never want

Zero Pred Zone update
I posted a few days ago and ended with saying I had already sent an eConsult request to my GP. No reply within the 48 hours so as the weekend was upon me I added 5mg for 3 days. That eliminated all, as expected I guess. Then today dropped to 3mg, aiming to do this for 3 days then drop back to 1 or 1.5

Bowel shaving/resection and hysterectomy. Anyone had surgery for these together in one surgery?
Hi all. I am 46 years old, stage 4 deep infiltrating endo and possibly adenomyosis, had previously an excision surgery to remove chocolate cysts in my 20s. I am due for a hysterectomy, removal of one or both ovaries and a bowel shaving in a months time. I was told there are lots of adhesions between

No treatment
Hi all, I just wonder if there are others there who have gaps in between referral, diagnosis and surgery with no treatment? I stopped taking contraceptives nine months ago due to other health issues without consulting anybody and my main worry now is what if my endo has grown? I haven’t had a lap

post RO incontinence
Hi, I am a bit over a year post RP. (3/23/23) My 8 and 12 week PSA were .31 and .49. I started 8 weeks of radiation completed in 11/23. My question is to those who suffer from incontinence after 1 year of surgery. I have been to a specialist, and he requested I record how many pads I use per day. The

PSMA scans-any update?
Saw this link this morning. Any update on this research or trials? Kinda describes my situation: after surgery and radiation PSA climbing. PSMA showed metastatic lymph nodes. Rather than watch and wait, they were radiated. PSA now seems to have dropped. Thanks. https://youtu.be/usXbPe_1YYc?si=cZB8L4YZ7y0w7qSJ

Dad's Next Treatment?
Hi everyone. This would be my first post here, I am feeling stumped and lost and I'm not sure what to do. For context, dad has the BRCA positive mutation gene. My dad (56) is experiencing a lot of bone pain for the past 4 weeks. He has been through Leuprolide acetate, Lu-177, Olaparib (Lynparza), Abiraterone

Kidney function and hypothyroidism?
My hypothyroidism was finally acknowledged six weeks ago. I've been on 50mcg daily. I've just had the first blood test since starting treatment. My fT4 has 'risen' from 8.8% to 9.3%. My TSH has dropped below 1 (0.7) for the first time according to blood tests going back to 2007. I'm a bit disappointed
