Preserflo and Trab surgery
This excellent talk by the consultant Neeru Vallabh is now easily available on the Glaucoma UK website and You Tube. For anyone who missed it then the speaker explains things so clearly. This consultant has kindly returned to answer all the questions that remained at the end of the session. I was delighted

Following my push to try and increase my FT3 levels (see my post of a few weeks ago) 3 weeks ago my consultant suggested I increase my Levo from 125mcg to 137.5 mcg for 2 months as he thought this might increase my T3, he had my graphs showing my FT3 was then at 15%. 2 weeks into the increase, which

hi all! I had my endo removed via laparoscopic surgery 21/11/2023 - over the last few days the pain in my left side has been awful / is it normal to go and come back? I don’t belive this is Endo pain as it sharp, breath taking?! Who do I call? My doctors, the surgeon or is this normal:( thanks

miracles do happen
hi just wanted to share my good news. I have had painful periods most of my life ( with the word painful being an understatement). At age 23 I bled for 50 days and had an MRI scan which showed an endometrioma, adenomyosis and a polyp. My gynaecologist wanted to perform surgery but I said no as I read

If I Didn't Have Faith and Family Like You!
Now, I just shared my story about my weekend in NY seeing Chris Botti; now I'm sitting in the Family Waiting Room of Jefferson Hospital for hubby to get out of surgery. He kept complaining of bad back and stomach pain. Well, large Kidney Stone causing a blockage! He needed a different procedure; not

Depression and physical pain

Starting Statins.
I’ve had permanent AF for three years, now 78 and am on Apixaban and low dose bisoprolol as well as thyroxine and pramipexole for RLS . After recent blood tests Surgery decided I should be on Statins. Atorvastatin now perscibed but not started. Seems to be a safety net as Cholesterol is within normal

Greetings, fellow warriors fighting prostate cancer. Mababa here, with a funny-sounding username that's a joining of my first name initial with the last part of the name of the city where I was born: Addis Ababa, seventy-one years and six months ago. Actually, I'm not quite in the fight yet, so I can't

hi warriors. I’ve bled for 73 days now since my surgery on 6th October. I’ve had options from my surgeon and they would effect fertility which I don’t want to do so we discussed coming off all contraception and using tranexemic acid on heavier days of my natural cycle. How many of you have used

Oesophageal Sphincter
Hello. My wife had gastro-oesophageal cancer 12 years ago and had surgery to remove the cancer. Thankfully all was successful and she leads a very normal life. As one knows, post surgery one cannot lie down flat as the oesophageal sphincter has been removed thus causing acid to come up from the stomach

After 16 years of pain I've been referred to gynae...
I'm 27 and I've endured debilitating pain during my period and ovulation and flooding during my period. The pain and bleeding rules my life. I'm finally seeing a gynae in March which is still so far away. I wonder when I'll be offered surgery? For YEARS I've been told that it's just ibs. I've given birth

Advice Please, I am in a terrible state.
I am a mess. I was tapering my prednisolone from 3mg to 2.5 mg using a reduction over 14 weeks, starting 19th September and was progressing nicely. In November we travelled long haul UK to USA, journey no hassle, flights good. But, I did experienced emotional stress caused by a family upset while

pre diagnosis/waiting laparoscopy
I’m on the wait list for my first surgery for suspected endo and just wondering if anyone had any tips for coping whilst waiting? I feel so anxious waiting for a diagnosis even though all my symptoms point to endometriosis, experiencing so much pain but not knowing officially why is driving me crazy?

Surgery waiting times
Hi all. Just wondering if there is anyone from Northern Ireland on a waiting list for diagnostic surgery for Endo? I've been on the waiting list for 5 years and been told it will probably be another few years, I've seen two consultants at the Mater within in the last 5 years although didn't actually
