"Water weight"
Hope you guys following Lytham's Challenge are all still full of beans (in moderation, of course :) ). I noticed that some of you who started early, and are now approaching week 3, are enthused by some quite impressive initial weight loss. While it's great to see that downwards movement on the scales

Hi all - need to try something else and am hoping I find something that I can finally stick with. Been to WW and Slimming World in the past but I always end up stopping after a few months and putting more weight back on. Am 55 this week and need some to get myself healthy! I’ve probably had weight issues

Cough. Ongoing.
My “asthma cough” has been present for about 4 months now. Often during the day it’s hardly there, but at night/early morning i have a coughing fit, which means getting up, having a hot drink, and sitting up. I’ve decided I prefer coughing to feeling the breathlessness which freaks me out. With my cough

First week of LCHF completed
As I have written before, I couldn’t imagine a meal without carbs. We always had bread /pasta/rice or potatoes with every meal. A month ago I started the 12 week NHS diet and for first few weeks did really well and then it slowed to 1lb loss which demoralised me. Last Monday I accepted Lytham’s challenge

A few people had trouble with the filebin repository (and it's probably expired now). I've put another copy on Dropbox. Download from: https://www.dropbox.com/s/fdd3njer5jovvw2/slim_book%20v3.pdf?dl=1 or view online: https://www.dropbox.com/s/fdd3njer5jovvw2/slim_book%20v3.pdf?dl=0

Asthma General Enquiry
Hi, I am being treated for asthma as I have the classic symptoms - shortness of breath, tight chest, difficulty getting a satisfying yawn. I have had the blue inhaler for a few years - and my peak flow sits at ~330 before and after using this. I have used the brown inhaler for a few years but it doesn't

It appears that reducing blood glucose level very quickly can cause kidney problems!! an article in diabetes.co.uk discuss this. We do not want to go from one problem to another problem, do we?

Cannot eat protein
I have had this for over 5 years and it is mostly controlled by gabapentin and a very

Atypical asthma ling function results
I posted before about my atypical asthma, as there are quite a few people with similar symptoms that have also been dismissed I thought I would share my results. Additionally if anyone has any insight, would be interested to hear. I pad to have a lung function test at a hospital to get some answers and

6 Months+ of Asthma Issues
Hi all, This is something of a ramble, but I feel like I'm at the end of my tether. At the end of May I had several severe asthma attacks and I still don't feel right over half a year later. In the immediate aftermath of the attacks, I was given prednisone to help get the inflammation down and since

Help me lose this 30lbs... I'm running out of will power
I am on a mission to lose 30lbs. I'm currently sitting at around 164lbs and the goal is 135lbs. I feel like I have been trying to lose this weight forever, I've been trying for a year now, and the lbs just don't seem to drop. My inches do but my weight doesn't. I'm a size 10/12 top and size 12 bottoms
