I had my Liver biopsy 2 weeks ago and my Liver # is a 2, they say it has to be at least a 4 in order that I would qualify for their clinical trials at IU Medical Center in Indianapolis, Indiana So this is good thing because some of my testing showed I had cirrhosis. So I have been told to stay on my new way of life, low carb diet, exercise, start taking 800 UI of Vitamin E and continue taking beta blocker Carvedilol. I have reversing my diabetes and have lost 81 lbs. And more to loose.....

NASH Fibrosis Stage 3
Hi Herman
Good news that you are stage 2. Much better than 4. It sounds like you are on the right track so kudos to you. Stay on your new lifestyle and keep us informed of your progress.
Wayne
great
how long did it take you between biopsies to go from f4 to f2
I have only had 1 biopsy, 1 month a go, I have had several fibroscans and ultrasounds but had conflicting reports of whether I had cirrhosus. So they did a liver biopsy, entered thru my jugular vein and took pressures of heart and liver and took several pieces of liver, but times span has been May 2018 till September 2020.
If you don't mind telling where you had fibroscans and biopsy done for my next step. I'm heading down this path but want to push quickly to get results and get moving on treatment please. Can you describe the neck pain and position of it? Thank you
Hi Frizzie ! Well I live in Indiana, My PCP sent directly after my first blood working showing them that all my liver ensymes were out the roof...So he connected me with IU Medical Center, Indianapolis, Indiana. They set me up on a strict low carb diet and exercise, which I ride a bike 3 to 4 days a week bout 3 to 4 miles a day, last summer I had gotten up to 5 to 6 miles a day. They suggest since I have reduced my scarring to a stage 3 Fibrosis by decreasing my carbohydrates which I only eat 30 carbs a day. , avoid high fructose corn syrup and 10% weight loss in addition to taking Vitamin E 800IU per day, that I have improved the inflammation, fat and scarring in the liver. the liver biopsy showed stage3 and not stage 4 of scarring. Also I did not have esophageal varices on EGD in 2018 and I have been on a medication to help with them(a non selective beta-blocker "Carvedilol". This is all I have left to do since my biopsy did not show portal hypertension. CT showed mildly enlarged liver, likely from prior portal hypertension when my liver was worse before my weight loss and diet changes. Have lost 82lbs. so far, I would like to loose at least another 25 lbs. Nothing needs to done about this and only clinical consequence this can have is lower platelet count. Ron
thankyou I do 30 carbs a day, but only eat 2 meals a day so most of the time don't use all 30 unless I am bad and eat something I am not supposed to eat. Selling my house and going through a divorce after being married to wife for 44 yrs... My stress level right now is very high and the migraines and poor eating habits are taking a toll on me trying to stay on the straight and narrow. So thanks for the reply will try to check in and see if you answer this. Thank you for the great words. My reply is Herman7275 but my name is Ron
Ron, who is your Doctor at IU Indy? Are you seeing a Liver Specialist as well. Looking for advice as I have liver disease and only live about 1/ 1/2 from Indy
