How to Balance Low Sodium and Electrolyte Replacement During Exercise?
There are two nutrition segments who do not communicate much: low sodium diets and electrolyte replacement. I have seen a number of articles about "low sodium backpacking" and "low sodium backpacking meals." There are also many, many articles (likely driven by a lucrative market) on electrolyte replacement

When flecainide is given as a bonus intravenously. Is it always with dextrose?
Does anyone know if flecainide is given with anything else.I was given it with dextrose 2 days ago. I looked it up, it is made from corn starch. I am highly allergic. I became ill immediately and now can’t get out of bed. The doctor ( who knew about my allergies) said it could only be given with dextrose

Pain and stiffness hits around midday after taking pred in the morning
Hi All, Hoping someone can throw some light on why these days I wake feeling dandy (well, moderately ok anyway...), take 15mg pred about 9.30 am with breakfast, only to find that the pain and especially the stiffness hits about midday. If, and only if, I eat a sensible low carb, low sugar diet that

Celiac or not
Hi folks, wonder if anyone can explain my concerns. I was diagnosed with celiac in 2020 through a blood test, the endoscopy showed normal upper tract. I had another blood test in August this year, when I was the nurse for my b12 injection I asked her about the results, and she kindly printed them off

IBS C Treatment?
Hi there! What are the treatments for IBS C? Has anyone found anything that works? I have had issues ever since I had my appendix removed and had anorexia. When trying to eat again and better I developed a problem where I just can't go properly anymore. I almost never get an urge to go unless I "stimulate

Peak Flow
Hello, I hope this is not a silly question. I have slight facial palsy, the right hand side of my mouth drops slightly so I never seem able to take a full "puff" when taking my peak flow, which is normally between 450 and 500. If I hold up my right cheek to match the other side it goes up to between

Cholesterol problems - high protein, good fat diet recommendations
Hi there, long-term lurker here. I am based in Switzerland although British by birth. I've recently been following a high protein diet plan which recommends lots of cheeses (hard and soft) and dairy products. The breakfasts consist of various combinations of high fat yoghurts, magerquark, Philadelphia

Looking for UK endocrinologist
Hello, I've recently been found to have antibodies for Coeliac disease after an over 5 year search for a diagnosis for my brain fog, joint pain, hair loss etc. While hopeful that continuing a gluten free diet will bring me relief, a lot of my symptoms resemble hypothyroidism, which is common in people

Cold and asthma
After the second cold in as many weeks my asthma has been trigger again. With the first cold after 3 days I ended up taking a 5 day course of my rescue steroids. My peak flow had drop and I started to experience a tight chest. I used ventolin every 4 hours too Now I find myself in the same position

Is sugar bad?
I’ve been trying to follow a gluten free diet to see if it helps my Hashimoto’s symptoms. Last night I ate something with a high sugar content and woke up feeling awful😭 puffy, red eyes, terrible brain fog, exhaustion. Now I’m wondering if sugar could be the culprit. Anyone else experienced this?

Update on dosage/diet having seen Rheumatologist
Hi everyone, saw my rheumy again last night and told him I had increased back up to 12.5mg because of the pain when I dropped to 10mg. He agreed that it was the right thing to do but was very careful to point out that it takes 7-10 days for your body to adjust to the new dose and not to jump too quickly
