Pins and needles..
Hi..I’ve been on strict gluten-free diet since December and so have on and off situations. I see improvement. My iron level and vitamin deficiencies got improved a little bit. I used to have light tingling in my right hand before the diagnose and B12 shots helped me a lot. I’ve never had crazy GI symptoms

Peak Flow doesn't always drop despite being symptomatic.
I was reading Lysteria's post about taking your details to take to A&E etc. She mentioned that her peak flow doesn't drop during an attack. I have an appointment coming up next month with the Severe Asthma Team where I feel I should mention this again. I've mentioned it in the past and my consultant

Wait a couple of days
As I tapered, old "pre-PMR" pains were uncovered. I took an occasional Tylenol for those. Eventually I was able to taper to zero Pred. with the help of Low Dose Naltrexone (LDN), which must come from a compounding pharmacy. Not many doctors are familiar with this treatment--yet. All I can say is that

How long for Prednisone to kick in?
Hi everyone just like some advice please. I started my rescue pack of Prednisone last Saturday (30mg) due to tight chest etc Usually after 2 or 3 days I begin to feel the results of the steroids. Today I have started to wind down the steroids as per usual but I still have the tight chest and not sure

Making a summary of your asthma to use in A&E/with paramedics: what these are and why they can help
Hi all, It's come up a couple of times recently that people have had less than ideal experiences with emergency care for asthma. I thought I'd post something about the summary I created and use when I need to go to A&E, which I know other 'regulars' have also found helpful. EmmaF91 has made a template

Carb cravings and - Muffins!
Just a short one. One of the problems with transitioning to a largely low carb high fat lifestyle is the inevitable craving for bread, potatoes, rice and pasta. When I was a child it was only bread and potatoes - pasta was largely unknown, and rice was a pudding. Anyway, many, many low carb recipes

Recipes for fatty liver?
Hello. My husband was just diagnosed with fatty liver. All the Dr. said was to eat a low fat diet and that it can be reversed. He still has to have a flex scan done and he has an appointment with a dietitian next week. But I was wondering if anyone has some recipes or ideas for food until his appointment

Glutathione Therapy and LDN
Just read the chapter in the LDN book about treatments for Parkinson's. Low dose naltrexone and glutathione therapy. Anyone have any experience with these? I've found several functional medicine places in the San Diego area and plan to call on Monday. We are not happy with the treatment my husband

struggling to cope with COPD
I posted some time ago but feel I need further advice and this forum seems to be the best place to receive it. As yet due to COVID I have yet to have a spirometry test. The doctor just tells me he thinks I have mild COPD and I have a ventolin inhaler to use when I am wheezy. My peak flow is usually

How to Increase BDNF
So somebody over on FB posted they were taking BDNF for PD anxiety (or maybe just for anxiety) so I Googled and found BDNF = Brain-Derived Neurotrophic Factor and BDNF supplements do not contain Brain-Derived Neurotrophic Factor. But I did find this article on strongcoffee.com. https://strongcoffeecompany.com

Dipyridamole, Adenosine and RLS (Oh My)
Warning, this stuff below is boring. Read only if you have insomnia. I am trying to understand the effects of Dipyridamole and Adenosine in RLS. In reading all the papers, I have been taking notes. It's interesting to me that some of the things I have been reading about are quite common to read
