Update on Mixing it Up
Hello fasting and furious comrades! Just popped over from NHS weigh in day to tell you I’m feeling the ‘fasting and fabulous’ effect. Weigh in has brought me 4 pounds down this week, 4 days of OMAD and 3 of 16:8 have kick started the loss and got me back to one stone down from starting place in Feb

Death of the calorie
It is a long read - but interesting. https://www.1843magazine.com/features/death-of-the-calorie Many of us here find that what works (without counting calories) is a combination of The

, High-Fat (LCHF)
diet
(see the forum here on Health Unlocked) and Not Eating All Day AKA Intermittent

Slowly getting into and used to LCHF. Coconut... Good or bad?! And how to work out how much Protein you should have a day?! Advice needed.
Hi. I've been slowly for the last 2 weeks reducing my carbs, and increasing my healthy fats. I've cut out bread, and grains, breakfast cereal now. With starting to look at what new things i'm supposed to eat, and being vegan for a long time. I bought a vegan keto 30 day cook book arrived 2 days ago

LCHF question about cooking beef mince
I’ve always drained fat off beef mince when cooking for ragu or chilli etc. But under LCHF should I leave the fat in, and would that be yucky to eat?

(LDN) Low Dose Naltrexone - Experience?
Hello, Does anyone here take LDN for inflammation? I have just been prescribed it by a private doctor and before I go and add yet another medication to the list of daily pills I pop, I thought I would ask all you wonderful people about your own experiences. Has anyone found that it has helped them?

Feeling low, follow up to 3 months of stress
Hello everyone, I’m sorry I haven’t replied yet to everyone who responded to my earlier post about all the stress of the last months plus a move. Thank you for all your support. I know I whined quite a bit! We moved a month ago but are still getting settled. I did a lot of moaning about stresses

Second day trying to be low carb
I think I started out right today. For my breakfast I had a sausage patty and hard boiled egg. For lunch I plan to have a salad with turkey and blue cheese dressing. Not sure what supper will be yet. Gonna figure it out soon.

Hi I’ve been lurking here awhile. I am trying to lose 77 lbs. i has a fitness coach helping me do calorie counting and low fat everything. I stopped losing now and I’m missing fats. I admit I’ve been eating potatoes, rice, corn and beans this past month and I’m convinced those carbs stalled my weightloss

On the keto diet? Ditch the cheat day. Just one dose of carbohydrates can damage blood vessels
But new research says that just one 75-gram dose of glucose -- the equivalent a large bottle of soda or a plate of fries -- while on a high fat,

can lead to damaged blood vessels. ...

What LCHF looks like for me...
Just posting this to show that LCHF does not have to be a huge heap of saturated fat. I'm getting a bit frustrated by people who hear that I'm "doing low carb", and they do not really understand much about it, are critical and make assumptions, and potentially influence other people away from what could

Hello! Newbie to this forum
Hi, I’ve been on the NHS weight loss forum for about a year but properly really from Feb where I discovered LCHF forum and from others the 16:8 fast. This has helped to get the weight loss going. I struggle to avoid carbs all the time but I know I can have a carbtastic day and then get back in the wagon

I'M NEW HERE AND ON PREDNISOLONE FOR A YEAR FOR GCA
Since being diagnosed last October with GCA and prescribed Prednisolone, I've had breathing difficulties and fluid retention for which I am being treated but not very successfully - are the two connected? Does any other member have these difficulties. I've Googled and while there is no established evidence

No light at the end of the tunnel!
Haven’t been on here for a while. It’s reassuring that I’m not the only one out there, although it feels that way sometimes. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, as I see no light at the end of the tunnel. I have had so many invasive tests done, including simple blood tests that show absolutely nothing

Seen hormone specialist, more confused than ever...!
So I've been for my long overdue annual visit to my hormone doctor in Belgium and I have to admit I received quite a lot of confusing and even contradictory advice that I would love for members to comment on: First of all, when it comes to my massive weight gain (+25 kg) since being treated with high

Soy milk and levothyroxine
I had my thyroid removed 8 years ago. Since then I have taken 100mg daily, sometimes 125mg on two of the days in a week without much problem. Recently I have changed my diet to low carb, no sugar, no processed foods, no pastry. Increased greens such as Kale, Broccoli, Spinach. I have also stopped

Cortisol results – help needed please
Hi guys, Advice needed please regarding my cortisol results and related changes to adrenal symptoms. I took the test after stopping Adrenavive and prednisone for over 2 weeks, so this is a true reflection of my levels without medication. Hopefully, you will agree with my actions to phase out prednisone
