Is it normal to feel tight Chested and still have good peak flow readings?

Peak flow
It can be. Not everyone's peak flow changes alongside asthma symptoms but, as previously explained to you, not all chest tightness is caused by asthma - anxiety is a hugely common cause of chest tightness (many other things can cause it as well) and when tightness is caused by something like that then peak flow won't change and asthma medication won't help it (either preventers or relievers). It's important to treat the correct cause because the incorrect path won't help at all.
I've never found that peak flow measurement bears any relation to how I actually feel. Even when done under supervision of asthma nurse. Plus encouragement to exhale as completely as possible/for a lomg time results in feeling even worse. Can't win. I guess they just need something to write down...?
