Low Protein Diet
I'm starting a low protein diet and allowed 46 grams a day. I have a few questions: (1) does this allowance involve both plant and animal protein; (2] if it involves plant protein, does the plant protein have to be "complete " proteins or just any proteins; (3) if I only eat 30 grams on a day, can

Medical Issues & RLS/PLMD
Hi all. I have recently been diagnosed with Celiac Disease (CD) and now wonder how much of my RLS/PLMD could be the result of an iron and/or other nutritional deficiency. My ferritin level is 160 so, a gluten-free diet may not help me re: RLS but, thought others should know that there is an established

Why !!!
My breathing has not been good lately, possibly because of a faulty inhaler, so I went for a COPD review . My peak flow was very low for me, 290 , so was given forms for blood tests and chest x ray. The next evening my breathing seemed worse as I was having difficulty drying myself after a shower. BUT

How do you all get your calories on a low protein diet?
My husband is trying to eat as low protein as possible while still eating healthy and getting 2000 calories per day. He's only 142 pounds so he cannot afford to lose weight. We found on Kidney.org that is says to add syrup from canned fruit or to eat candy. We think that that is terrible advice. Anyone

Update with Nephrology, Losartan discontinued from my treatment plan
To give an update for today, I talked with Nephrology and losartan was discontinued for now. I was told that hypoglycemia was a rare side effect of the medication so they would like for me to repeat labs in 2-4 weeks. I've spent May and June having one flare-up after another... four weeks on prednisolone and, once I'd weaned off it, I had another bout of asthma... So now my dr has referred me (which will take months for the appt to come through) and recommended that I up my Symbicort to 8 puffs daily then gradually

Diet Supplements
Once again unable to sleep. Thinking about my diet. I’m having some stomach and digestive investigations. My stomach is now so distended and solid with it. It looks like I have someone else’s abdomen and my own skinny arms and legs. It’s hurting my back. I am determined to boost my health this year by

Using Albutrix
I have been using Albutrix for one month. Until I receive my next blood and 24-hour urine test results, I do not know how well it works. I have read the entire book, Stopping Kidney Disease by Lee Hull. It is excellent. I have started to read some of the referenced scientific articles, such as:
