Asthma suffering: Hi so I'm new on here... - Lung Conditions C...
Asthma suffering
have you tried spraya? ventolin ?
Hi yes I'm on a symbicort 200/60 and ventolin
good luck with them
HI Colby,
What tests have you had and have you been officially diagnosed with asthma?
The very first thing you need to know is that if you have difficulty breathing without a wheeze, it can still be asthma. There is such a thing as silent asthma. The second thing you need to know is that not all doctors know about this. Don't ever be put off by anyone telling you that because you are not wheezing it's not asthma and you should be fine. If you are having difficulty breathing it is a problem. Maybe time to see a doctor again.
Does the ventolin help? Have you had a recent chest infection? What did the doctor say when you told them about the chest pain?
Ive been diagnosed with mild asthma but by the test of lung function test my dr seems to think there is more than just asthma as inhalers dont help after taking massively, also she has referred me to london hospital expert in what is happening just really worried as its a everyday problem effecting my day to day life at age 26
Hi Colby,
When you say "taking massively", are you referring to the ventolin? Do you get no relief at all? Also do you know what brought this on? What the trigger may have been?
Hopefully you will get to see the expert soon. In the mean time, if you have problems, don't hesitate to see a doctor or get checked at the hospital. Wishing you all the very best and hopefully it will be something easy to heal.
After ventolin not much improves and after steriod inhaler vert concerned
Hi Colby,
Steroid is a slower improver. It builds up over time. Ventolin works more immediately. How much Ventolin do you take and how often?
Alot to be honest the ventolin alot
I also take ventolin a lot. Be careful of rapid heart beat although my body seems to be used to it. However I don't use the blue inhaler. I am on powdered Ventolin (Salbutamol). The propellant in the blue inhaler gives me asthma! After taking the CFC Ventolin for many years, I moved to the newer CFC free Ventolin. Over a period of 10 months the asthma got progressively worse until no amount of ventolin was helping and I had developed the "tight steel band around my chest". Through a chance encounter, I decided to go back on the CFC ventolin. Within two weeks I was back to normal. No steel band and the ventolin relieving my asthma. I then moved on to the powdered form. It also worked well for me. The propellant in the CFC Free Ventolin is absolutely no good for me.
