I've spent May and June having one flare-up after another... four weeks on prednisolone and, once I'd weaned off it, I had another bout of asthma...
So now my dr has referred me (which will take months for the appt to come through) and recommended that I up my Symbicort to 8 puffs daily then gradually reduce back down to 4.
This seems to be working, as I'm not having as many symptoms now and my PF has gone up from 290 to 350. My best PF is 400 but I haven't had that since April.
So my question is, do I just accept that my PF best has reduced by 50 as the result of two months of constant asthma symptoms?

Your best is usually still valid if it's within the last 6 months - I wouldn't downgrade it yet. Especially as you've been in a flare - still useful to know what you should be at when you're not. You can say when your appt comes through that it was your best but you kept having flares so we're struggling to reach it for a while.
I didn't get any real benefit from using Symbicort. I was on it for approx 6 months and my Asthma Nurse change my inhaler medication to a Fostair 100/6, the benefit is much better.
