Hi everyone,

Earlier today, we had posted a poll dealing with the amount of protein a person eats during the day. Please see:

healthunlocked.com/healthye...

Along with today's poll, here are a few articles that deal with protein. The first two articles were written by: Franziska Spritzler, Jillian Kubala, MS, RD and Kris Gunnars, BSc. They were medically reviewed on healthline.com by Kim Chin, RD., Nutrition—Updated on May 21, 2021 and Grant Tinsley, PhD, Nutrition—Updated on January 6, 2022. The third article was published/written by: Peter Jaret

Medically Reviewed by: Kathleen M. Zelman, MPH, RD, LD on November 11, 2020 for Webmd.com. All three articles explain about the types of foods that have protein in them and how it helps everyone when choosing what to eat and how much is necessary through the day.

To get the amount of protein each day, I have two hard boiled eggs and a Greek yogurt at breakfast. This helps me so I don’t get hungry between meals and also a way to control blood sugars from spiking too high. I’m on a low carb. high protein diet because I’m also a person who has Type 1 Diabetes.

This is a very useful resource Leah. It's especially important for you to understand protein as a Type 1 diabetic, but it's good for us all to try to endure that we get the right amount daily and great to know different ways of achieving that. 👍

Thank you for saying that, Sue. I agree with you about knowing how much protein and carbs. we have in each meal. The articles were/are very interesting and helpful. I have either tuna, salmon, eggs, imitation meat, chicken, turkey, beef, etc. with all meals so the balance between carbs. and protein is not too much for each during the day. I have a protein snack bar with a Greek yogurt for bedtime to keep the blood sugars from dropping too much when asleep. 😀👍
