Can you help with a research trial based in London?
The Rivaroxaban in APS (RAPS) trial is now recruting new patients to the trial. Our charity has agreed to help with this important trial as it could finally provide a safe alternative treatment to warfarin. Below is the recruitment paper from Professor Hannah Cohen of University College Hospital in

Introduction
Hi all and Happy New Year, I'm new to RA having had OA for years. I've already had knee replacements and carpal tunnel release in both hands. Obviously that wasn't enough so I have now been diagnosed with RA. I start treatment at the end of January and have found posts I have read very useful. Its

I had bilateral knee replacement in Feb. 2013. I still cant bend well, support my weight when trying to stand, aches etc. Anyone have this?
The surgery and recovery was supposed to be 6 months. Lost insurance and job after 8 months. Dr. wants to do more surgery around joint but I'm not sure it was done correctly the first time. Can anyone offer advice on how to take the next step? I'm only 55 yo.

A potted history of my diseases.....
Here is a short potted history of my diseases. I was diagnosed with ra in 2002 i think that was the year. Things were plan sailing for a few years. Then on my silver wedding anniversary i fell down the stairs and damaged my knee, resulting in a total knee replacement, then i had to have the ligaments

This & that!
The results from my bone density showed that I don't have osteo poreosis so that's good news which probably means the back is due to OA :( I'm still waiting for a date for my knee replacement which had been planned for Oct/Nov - I'm way over the 18 weeks as the main theatres at the hospital were closed

Steroids
I have had ITP for about 8 years now and am 20 years old. My platelets are usually between 15 and 50 the only treatment I have ever gotten is a platelet infusion right before knee surgery. I have never been told I needed any type of treatment or medication. I live a normal like and only keep it monitored

I am really fed up. Getting use to having Fybro and getting use to problems is causes are two different things.
You wake up in the morning if you have managed to sleep and suddenly do not feel like doing all the things you have planned to do. Is is possible to get on top of Fybro so it does not rule your life. I have arthiritis and have had one knee replacement already which is not very good and causing a few

Since being diagnosed with PA, my body has disintegrated. Muscle tone gone, heart murmur, knee replacement needed and I'm always cold.
Is this how life will continue. Going down hill. My injections are every 3 months and I find after5-6 weeks I start to feel exhausted again. Has anyone else experienced these problems

I have lymphoedema in both legs and need a knee replacement. Has anyone had this done and tell me the problems they have encountered.
So far I have seen two surgeons and both have not operated on someone with my problem. Both have told me any infection and I could have the leg amputated.

Ultra sound hand scan today.................
Well I had an ultrasound hand scan today as at my last appointment they weren't sure what was going on & suspected that my pain was due to a mechanical process rather than Inflammatory or RA, especially as I still requrie a lot of pain even though I am on MTX, Suplha & hydroxy! Any way the scan was done

Baker Cyst. Anyone had a scan for this?
Hi, I have been told by the rheumy nurse when I asked to have one that .. "they don't tell us much" but I said they tell us more than not looking. I wasn't rude but I was fobbed off. Told it is only when there is preparation for surgery for knee replacement they can. I am not happy as this is cyst

RA or Inflammatory Osteo?!!!
I was at the rheumy clinic today & they are querying if I do have RA or just severe inflammatory arthrits, this is because after several months of MTX I haven't improved & my blood results don't show any inflammation. I'm not sure if I am happy or sad at this possible diagnosis. At least with RA there

What positive things can I say to a friend who has been diagnosed with RA
A very good friend of mine, previously active and energetic has been diagnosed with inflammatory arthritis. He is about 60 years old and has never suffered any joint pain before. The onset was alarming rapid apparently from no pain to all joints in pain in a matter of weeks with significant restriction
