Any one had Knee surgery before having a full knee replacement?
It was confirmed a couple of months ago that I had severe secondary osteoarthritis as well as rheumatoid arthritis :-( today I have had my first appointment with a knee surgeon. He believes the best operation is reconsructive knee surgery. I am 32 and he feels I am too young for a full knee replacement

Hi, I'm new here. Had a knee replacement 9 months ago but still experiencing extreme pain.
Mainly to my shin bone, inside of knee & a large area on lower side of thigh. Replacement has been checked & deemed ok & my pain down to tissue & nerve damage. Can't say I agree with this but wondering if anyone else has experienced this? Allergic to most pain meds so getting seriously fed up now :-

Does anyone on this site have synovial osteochondromatosis- a rare type of arthritis? I have this plus autoimmune thyroid disease.
I had my left knee replaced age 54 and after many arthroscopies/chondroplasty etc need a knee replacement on my other knee. The surgeon says I was 'born with this condition'.She doesn't seem to know much more and I wonder if it is also autoimmune.

Cold Feet
Cold Feet. Help!!! I have been experiencing cold feet for the past 3 months. It is very debilitating. The worst sensation is in the morning. I have had nerve conduction studies, thyroid test, the doctor says my pulse is good. Nobody can give me an answer or help me relieve my symtoms. Hot water does

Would like some advice on a ESA Tribunal coming up soon
My main argument is with the issue that I am continually in pain when I walk. I had believed that if you are in constant pain, any distance you can manage is ignored. As a secondary issue is that the medical assessment (4 minute physical examination) concluded I could walk ok, whereas I was diagnosed

My lymphoedema journey so far
Although I was diagnosed as having oedema on my left ankle in 2004 (having done a lot of walking/standing around on a hot day) this seemed to have disappeared within a couple of weeks. In December 2009 I suffered a bout of Iritis in my left eye. One of the Opthalmists questions was---do you have an auto-immune

I recently saw my doctor regarding what is obviously arthritis in my fingers. She seemed quite dismissive despite the significant changes.
I am 67 years old and have had arthritis for many years. Although I have had 2 total knee replacements and have pain elsewhere, the problem with my fingers only started to develop a year or so ago. I have got used to arthritis over the years but the issue with my fingers is quite bluntly terrifying

DIFFERING LEG LENGTHS
Has anyone suffered pain because of this, I have had a left hip replacement and a right knee replacement carried out over the last two years. I also suffer with lower back pain and sciatica, I believe that my right leg has always been a little longer than my left, my husband has always laughed and said

How to damage your liver - lessons from your genes
I recently posted a question on the "question" section asking if there were people out there with haemochromatosis and after three days, I had no answers, so I asked a supplementary question - who had heard of it. I then realised that the chances of people reading that were remote once their mental answer

Hi all I had an arthroscopy on my right knee approx. 18 months ago which was a great success. I now have to have the same done on my left knee in a few weeks. As a result of this my right knee has become very painful again and is slightly bowing. My surgeon said this is probably a result of me over

Paediatric Orthopaedic Surgeons in Singapore
Children can be one among the most difficult patients to deal, particularly because they have definite developmental issues. However for these surgeons, treatments and tantrums can go together easily. Pediatric orthopedic surgeons are doctors who are trained and are well-adept in treating and diagnosing
