Chronic arthritis and exercise
I am obese, diabetic and have chronic arthritis. I am going into hospital soon for a knee replacement and my surgeon has told me to lose as much weight as possible. How can I exercise with chronic arthritis in my knees and hips. I can't walk without crutches and even turning over in bed at night

An update on CRPS and amputation or not !
When I asked the other day what people thought about amputation after having a knee replacement when you have CRPS . I want to clarify something ! I no if I have CRPS the pain would not go away at all but the point of me wanting an amputation is because I can't use my knee very well and it's stopping

Round 2 !!
Ok peeps, knee replacement in Feb this year, havent been able to bend it properly since then, so just checked in to have MUA (manipulation under anaesthetic), basically force it to bend, tearing any scarring and adhesions that are stopping it moving, has anyone else had this done??? sitting in hospital

Just got to keep going.....
I've not been on here for a while as I've been so ill with pain and disability. Abatacept plus MTX was working great for me earlier on in the year. I had a throat infection for a short while, stopped meds for a couple of weeks. But in that time the RD just went mental and refused to be kicked back down

Knee replacement postponed
Had pre-op appointment this morning. All seemed OK, blood pressure perfectly normal. However after all the instructions on what was going to happen, saw Dr who looked at my ecg and said he thought I'd had a heart attack. No way! I think the wavy line may have been caused by the acute anxiety I had before

Poor sleep, horrible headaches, muscle cramping in legs
If anyone has any suggestions as to what might help with making me sleep at night, I will be forever grateful. I have been having problems for quite a long time, but it has gotten to the point where I have at least 1 or 2 nights a week that I don't sleep at all. I will be awake for almost 24 hours and

PIP
benefits I have had epilepsy for over 50 years. People keep telling me you can claim for this and that but every time I try for anything I just get a letter back saying I don't qualify. I am talking about PIP which my nurse said I can get. Also sometimes I cannot walk very far as it tires me too much

Where to from here ?
As someone who has previously proffered advice, on this occasion I need some from you guys. I have longstanding acute pain issues, spanning the last 11 years. Following two serious car accidents, the pain across my limbs increased significantly over time and I went from the maximum doses of Tramadol

Trying to stay strong is exhausting..
.. Is it not? Dealing with chronic pain is tough. We all know that. And I also know about the power of positive thinking and having the right attitude. It does help immensely. But there are days where my "positive thinking and attitude" feel contrived. Forced. Phony. Some days, I just don't have it,
