Ok peeps, knee replacement in Feb this year, havent been able to bend it properly since then, so just checked in to have MUA (manipulation under anaesthetic), basically force it to bend, tearing any scarring and adhesions that are stopping it moving, has anyone else had this done??? sitting in hospital gown, waiting to go to theatre, bricking it !,

Round 2 !!
I did but several years ago. I wasn't under for long and it did help. Good luck!
Hi, hope your op went ok ☺ that sounds terrible. I've heard others say that they've needed to have knees manipulated following surgery, but can't tell you any more than that, sorry I can't be of much use. I really hope the op works for you and hope you'll be able to mobilise easier.
Gentle hugs ( ( ( ) ) )

Hi
Had mine done 2 years ago. If you ever have to have an op this is the one!
No cutting, no blood, no bandages. Minor ache, just keep going on the knee bender machine to stop the knee stiffening up again.
I can get a 90 degree bend whereas before I was only getting about 50 degrees.
I would have liked more but 90 degrees is okay for me as I am not very mobile generally.
Good luck!
Hope the op. went well. Strangely I am going to visit my friend tomorrow who had her knee replacement operation about a month back. Haven't seen her for two weeks so hope she is making good progress.x
Haven't had that but you never get back 100% of what you were born with. My ligaments protest a lot even after 3 years. I had to modify by mountain bike to keep using it. The repetitive bending helps a lot but there's always pain. By now I assume you're out of theatre (local anaesthetic I presume?). hope it went well.
How did u adapt ur bike ? I had procedure done under general anaesthetic, with nerve blocker in femoral nerve, been on machine that keeps it bending up and down, managing to get 91degrees so that's already better than what I was getting. Any progress is good.
shorter cranks for the pedals. Can't remember the details. It wasn't much, a few mm but it was a smaller circle for the foot to go round, so less knee bending, only 10% of the travel but made a huge difference. Of course it changes the gearing, so you might want to consider more teeth on the back or fewer on the front. Makes it slower but I'm built for comfort, not speed anyway. I think it was £40 or so for the crank and £50 for the rear cassette, which was due for changing anyway - worn out like me. (do the chain at the same time, it will be worth it)
I want to genuinely and sincerely wish you all the best of luck
my hubby had total knee replacement ten days ago then blood clot behind same knee the day after. this has held him back. just wondered what he should be doing by day ten x
