I feel so low and depression keeps making an apprearance
I've just had my 3rd lot of treatment and I'm currently on my 2ww which has never been easy anyway. I was rather ill this 3rd time round, I ached from the procedure and then I had a bad head cold at the same time where I couldn't drive or even walk properly without feeling dizzy. I think for the past

RLS and knee Replacement
I finally had my arthritic knee replaced 5 days ago and my RLS has never been worse. I have been on 3x 1 mg of Ropinrole per day for about 6 years and this has contained the worst of the condition. I would have some periods were the symptoms were very much worse and then they would subside a little.

SURGERY, AF, POTASSIUM
I thought this might be of interest to anyone facing surgery in the future and just to add to general knowledge 3 weeks ago I had a hip replacement and on the second night after successful and uncomplicated surgery I woke with AF. This was really disappointing as I had a very successful second ablation

TENS treatment
Have been trying TENS unit for nerve damage pain. Both my physical therapist and massage therapist say TENS may provide temporary symptom relief, but doesn't heal nerves any faster. It may also have some specific uses for knee replacement, etc. But I had so hoped that it would stimulate blood flow or

First Rheumy Appointment on Tuesday
Hello everyone, I have been on Predisolone since 28th October (20mg a day) recently dropped to 15mg. I have my first rheumy appointment at my local hospital on Tuesday and wondered what sort of questions I should ask please? I believe from what I have read and my symptoms that I have PMR. Back and

Pneumonia
Hi Everyone I had a total knee replacement at the end of Sept. finally went back on Enbrel three weeks after surgery. However I had a bout of flu at the beginning of January( despite having regular flu jabs), followed by pneumonia. And had to stop Enbrel again I finished the antibiotics a week ago

Pain and brain fog
I went to the orthopaedic knee replacement post op and all seems well, I just have to be patient while they arrange the second one. But while discussing pain the nurse practitioner said ah you've got RA so you'll know about coping with pain - high pain threshold. And it occurred to me that the brain

Here we go again.
Well, after 15 months of afib-free bliss following first ablation, I started getting the old "flutters" back just before Christmas. This time, however, much milder and easily controlled with flecanaide, thank goodness. This took care of things until my regularly scheduled visit with my EP. He said I

Rheumatology review: Scotland
There's a lot of criticism about the NHS at present so I thought I'd report something which would appear to be positive. I received (via velopost, very ecological) an invitation to go to a rheumatology review at the GP. I've got an appointment this afternoon and have asked via my rheumatologist at the

Hand Surgery
I have very deformed hands, my fingers go to one side, I cannot flatten my hands. I went to see a consultant about a possible knuckle replacement.. He said it was not advisable as I was on too many drugs! I am taking Methotrexate, folic acid, warfarin and BISPRONOL . I think warfarin is the problem

Withdrawal!!
Having come off Gabapentin (before my knee replacement in September) and the subsequent withdrawal symptoms I experienced, I've come to the conclusion that I must be coming up short in the common sense department! Since speaking to the Nurse on the 111 service last Thursday, I have exchanged Cocodamol

Complete Knee Replacement: Any thoughts on the use of NOACS over the operation period?
I am due for a complete knee replacement. Dabigatran with its half life of 12 hours was halted for 24 hours for my two catheter ablations (still in sinus rhythm). This was also tied into plasma phoresis ( blood cleaning) to reduce white blood corpuscles levels a couple of days beforehand; due to a lymphoma

Knee replacement and RLS
I wondered if any fellow sufferer has gone through a TKR? What are your experiences? I have decided to go ahead with mine on 21 January and find the prospect of lying in bed, post op and getting a bad attack of RLS a bit daunting. (Right now, on a bad day, I am never quite sure if the pains in my
