OPERATION NEXT WEEK
Hi everyone, I joined this forum in early January. i Have Polymyalgia Rheumatica and am on steroids for that. Compared to some on steroids I did quite well in only gaining a stone in three years, while ‘playing’ with low carb, but did not realise the significance of combining low carb with high fat

Am I a complete idiot to think that taking paracetamol for 10 years was ok??
It was only when I saw my RA nurse specialist on Tuesday, and he was writing down all my prescription medications, that I casually mentioned taking 2000mg of paracetamol daily (4x500mg pills). He looked horrified and said, "Every single day?". Yes, every day. "For how long?" And that's when I realised

TKR almost a year later and lots of inflamation still.
Hi, I had a Total Knee Replacement April, 2018. I went to the VA for an evaluation a couple weeks ago. They Xray’d it and said it was all good. I told them I have a lot of inflamation all around the knee, have pain walking down stairs, and pain at night when I move it in bed. All they could offer is

Post polio syndrome
Thank goodness polio survivors are rare now, but that makes it difficult to connect to others and even find docs that understand. My timeline: 6 mos old -- initial virus left me with paralyzed right arm and weakened leg = PT and warm baths 4 times a day (thank you, mom), broke arm 6 times betw ages 2

Wife has hms +eds type 2 when was the last time you both spent time as a husband and wife like walking hand in hand down street??
Hi I'm 42 and my wife is also 42 and she has this horrible condition, Last year she had knee surgery to make dislocation less which was I think a great success. But not so long after the op my wife had a mishap when the dog jumped up to her in excitement, which in turn caused my wife to fall and snap

Any advice please
I have been taking Pramipexole for a few months now with little or no relief. Previous to this I was taking Pergolide which worked perfectly for many years however now it is unavailable so I'm having to try alternatives. On top of this I've had a knee replacement and when the restless legs start

Knee replacement
I am 3 weeks into my knee replacement recovery. Of course having RA the procedure had it complications. My leg bone was over 20% tilted and they had to shorten ligaments. Needless to say I am in agony! I go to physical therapy 3times a week and I’m embarrassed to say I cry every time actually I cry

End of life : Caring at home
My husband has stage 4 lung cancer and there are not more treatment options available to him. He was discharged a week ago from our local Hospice where he was treated for a chest infection. He can't walk , barely stand and is very breathless . He was discharged with a full package of care , a hospital

Pain at 3months,doctor acts like I should be healed.
I'm at 3 mos, total knee replacement, I hurt. My doctor says I should be healed. The ibuprofen nor the tylenol works. I've been working out with a recumbent bike and treadmill. I feel better when I'm moving, after I sit,,,my knee is swollen red/blackish. I put ice on it, only thing that helps. Then
