I don’t know if I am on the right page to ask this question but I need a bit of help
Since age of14 now 72 I have had hip knee replacements kidney transplants spine op I’m in a/f other problems going on
Lost my husband 3years ago at that time I was using one crutch to get around in pain but coping I then had 2 falls and then in a lot of pain all of a sudden I couldn’t walk
I went to see a specialist in physio and pain relief was told I was on the highest dose of pain relief and they couldn’t do any more for me
There was 2percent of people in uk who they couldn’t help so I am in a wheelchair and can’t walk I thought I had accepted the position I am in but seems not is there anyone out there who knows anything about this
Thank you for any help anyone can give me june

welcome. i'm sorry you are suffering. there are other things they can do aside from prescribing medication. obviously I don't know your condition or diagnoses, but I've been receiving shots in my back for two years. around every 6-8 months I get nerve burns and they help a lot. before my father had his knees replaced he got shots in his knees that helped relieve pain and allowed him to keep working. I would ask about this. if your doctors are fine with leaving you unable to walk and you are not paralysed then it's time to find new doctors! stay strong.
Thanks for replying yes I have a few problems that are stopping injections and operation on spine he said that he wouldn’t be able to find anyone who wouldn’t operate on me with the spine probs I have
The last one many years ago went wrong and I had to go back in and have it redone
I honestly don’t know I have a letter he sent to me explaining what was going on with back and i quickly read through it will have to read it slowly again
If I see anything that I think will be of interest to you I’ll get back to you is that ok
if it's mainly spinal stenosis, there are alternatives to simply shoving pills down your throat. I get nerve burns for mine. before the nerve burns I couldn't bend, because I never knew how i'd stand up again, I had to be careful about how I sat because of the pain... I couldn't lie down, sit or stand without serious pain. it's worlds better now.
I had a similar thought: you need different doctors, possibly a rheumatologist. The surgeries other than kidney transplants suggest you have OA, you might post on the arthritis forum as well. I am your age and have difficultly walking, though I'm not in a wheelchair, and I have not given up hope, am trying lots of treatments. You clearly are suffering. All the best.
Thanks for reply I do agree with you about different doctors I do remember physio saying that they didn’t want to see me anymore as there wasn’t anything they could do for me
I should have then asked more questions after 1 and a half years I’m know looking for answers
No sorry if I was confusing you it wasn’t the renal unit it was the pain relief department I don’t know. If you read the problems I have had but it all doesn’t help
