It seems to fall back on posture and how you sit or use your bed

If the seat is to low and your seat is to low,or high that can cause stress on the knee.

The same applies if your leg has no support from the nose of the cushion, where the leg follows around the cushion the knee needs to be set away slightly from the cushion. the leg rests on the cushion that may irritate the tendons around the back of the knee

I have problems with my legs and I was measured up for a comfortable seat that supports spine and legs, these seats can be purchased as a recliner, or a straight back comfortable chair from companies like HSL Your feet need to rest on the floor without pushing yourself or slouching. The knee needs to be supported straight, measurements may need to be taken. The same sort of thing regards your bed or the seat in your car.

In bed I use Memory Foam as a mattress or topper, this gives spine and neck support, it also helps to support your knee. Beds generally last, mattress 10 to 12 years. A topper is cheaper and will assist support on an oldish mattress.

You can also support your knee in a slight bend on a memory foam pillow in the back side of the knee. You need to prevent your leg from rubbing the edge of a seat also with a pillow, or bolster to restrict movement and rest your knee slightly raised from the mattress. It is lack of support in bed and your knee not resting correctly around the cushion of mattress seat can make you feel uncomfortable.

You would have been given various exercises to undertake, consider swimming at the baths this will heal and increase movement in the leg, there are other activities you could try. Swimming supports all joints and tones up muscle and tendons etc

You can also purchase deeper cushions to rise the height on the seat so the foot rest flat on the floor. and supports the knee slightly away and around the cushion
