Think it depends on anaesthetist. I would,
however, recommend the spinal. It really isn't sore....and I have an awkward spine, so it takes ages to find the right spot. Recovery is so much quicker, and the block helps with pain relief.
You will see the anaesthetist before the op, so can talk it through. Good luck, whichever way you go. I can still remember the joy that felt when I came to, and the awful pain in my knee had gone. M xx
I’ve not had a spinal anaesthetic but if you’re worried, could you ask for sedation?
You can be sedated before spinal anaesthetic. I would talk to your medical team. Best good luck with it
