Good morning all I have recently had two total knee replacements, June 2017 and February 2018. The first TKR was a nightmare, the pain was horrendous., the second not as bad. Consequently I was on high doses of morphine for about 20 months. Coming of morphine wasn’t easily and this is when I started

Oh dear! It must be a flare.
I am having a knee replacement later on today. I have therefore not been reducing the Pred. for quite a while- on 11mgs. However, I think I have been in denial(yet again) that I am having a flare as I have been having a lot of pain and trouble sleeping, whilst doing next to nothing for the last couple

Knee Replacement Problems
Hi everyone. I first underwent a knee replacement in March 2013 this proved a challenge due to a Patellectomy I had some thirty years ago, I’m now 55. The initial TKR didn’t go to plan and it turned out that it hadn’t been fitted all that terribly well so a revision was needed in February 2016. Since

Total Knee Replacement surgery (TKR)...
Hi All, Has anyone (with ataxia) had Total Knee Replacement surgery (TKR)? I've been told I need TKR in my left knee but am a bit leary about doing it, as I have ataxia, due to Niemann Pick C disease (adult on-set). I have severe arthritis in my left knee and a bone on bone situation. Years ago I had

I started with PMR seven months ago just before I was due to have a knee replacement. I was on 15mg pred and my consultant refused to operate due to an increased risk of infection until my pred intake was 5mg or less. I am now on 5mg and doing OK and I have arranged an appointment with the consultant

RLS after knee surgery?
About a year ago I had my knee scoped to take out some tissue. Ever since then I’ve been having terrible restless legs. My symptoms started about 4 months after my surgery, around the same time I regained all my muscles in that leg. Could the too be related? I’ve been to numerous docs who can’t tell

If you're at all interested... this post does becomes more relevant as you read on... Yesterday was my knee replacement surgery; it was originally scheduled for 9:00 am and then changed to 3:00. Well "Murphy's Law" then reared its ugly head and it became, 4:00, then 5:00, then 6:45! "Hungry? Me?

Hi, I know this isn't relevant, and I apologise up front, but I needed to say "THANK You," to everyone who sent me public/private messages and "well wishes," before my knee replacement surgery today. Thank you ever so much! Melissa If you want to reach out, you can find me here: mwhite4591@gmail.com

Pain Better on Foods
Hi, Im from the U.S. I dont know about the other states, but in Wisconsin you will have a real difficult time getting any drugs for pain anymore, unless maybe you just had surgery, then still your pain meds are limited to a short period of time. I had chronic low back pain. I also had a TKR last April

EXPERIENCE OF RITUXIMAB AND TRIXUMA INFUSIONS TO CONTROL RHEUMATOID ARTHRITIS - ALSO USE OF ABATACEPT with or without Methotrexate therapy
Hello, Sorry, this is a long post and thank you for reading it. I have been on the biologic weekly injections ETANERCEPT (Enbrel) for over 12 years. This treatment worked very well for me for a very long time. However, it has stopped controlling my RA since I have had 2 total knee replacement operations

Total knee replacement
my left leg is my weak (but not too bad) ms leg. I only use a cane when I am walking long distances, standing for long time, etc. Has anyone had total knee replacement on their ms leg? And if you had spinal anesthesia, how did your leg react? I have to have surgery but concerned about the spinal anesthesia

Hi, upto now I've done pretty well for a 68 (aaaarrrrggghhh) year old. However, been on Prednisone for a few years and have developed OsteoA in my right knee. Back in NSR after cardioversion ?perimitral flutter?
Good to be back in NSR. Not so good; the EP study showed my flutter was atypical and requires a more complex ablation than there was time for on Monday; or, to come home to a very poorly partner who required hospitalization due to an infection. On the plus side my heart stayed in NSR throughout many

Brand New Day
Good Morning! Thank you! From the bottom of my heart, I thank each and every one of you! You have no idea what your overwhelming outpouring of love, empathy, kindness, outrage, and compassion meant to me. I will never be able to repay that debt. Not surprisingly, I am having a "flare," and with knee

Knee replacement
Hi all. Three weeks ago I had a knee replacement operation and beforehand I was pretty scared that my AF would kick off when I had it done. However, all was well and I only had a couple of short bursts of palpitations in hospital. Even when I was being given a spinal block I managed to stay ok. I’m posting

SLE and total knee replacement
I had a total knee replacement nearly 4 months ago and my knee still feels warm/hot to the touch and still is painful at times. It seems as if it may be inflamed inside. At the same time my other joints and muscles are grumbling. I don't know whether I should just be patient as I have been told that
