WOW!!! 😀 I would have never have thought it was possible to run for 28 minutes when we started this journey, don’t get me wrong it definitely isn’t easy some days, but today was a good day. I am so thrilled to have got this far and super proud of my husband who had a knee replacement last February

Weight gain and side effects of mirapex(pramipexole)
I have been seeing my neurologist for about 4 years and the only thing that seems to work is mirapex. I take minimum of 4 pills (sometimes as much as 8 pills of 1 mg. a night. I have gained 50 lbs. on this medication but it seems like it is the only med that helps. Should I try gabapentin maybe. I can

Feels like I’m drowning...
Recovering from this knee surgery has taken a lot out of me. Physically...emotionally....mentally. My husband doesn’t understand my struggles. I communicate as best as I can but, it either ends in him not understanding at all, him thinking I am mad at him which makes me feel worse, and minimal times

Physio
So, following my ankle replacement on 28 feb, I had my first physio session today. Nothing short of absolute torture!! I genuinely thought because I’ve been trying to walk around the house each day, it would have been much better than it was. Clearly, our ankles need more than just simple walking!

Trochanteric Bursitis?
As some of you may know, I have had both knees and hips replaced in the last 2 years. I had my left hip done in September last year and, more recently have been recovering from the right knee replacement. As I have been exercising more, I have noticed new pain in my left hip. Just above the scar, there

Possible Knee replacement in few years- to run or not to run????

Update - Good News/Not good news
Just had a tele-medicine visit with my new MPN Specialist at Johns Hopkins. the renowned Dr. Spivak has decided to cut back after 47 years in practice. The new doc, Dr. Braunstein was trained by Dr. S and seems like a great doc. He recommends continuing my current treatment regimen for JAK2+ PV age

Teeth, osteoporosis, alendronic acid
Taking alendronic acid well, no problems, for just over 20 years, with a 1 yr long break, a few yrs ago. Then dexa showed density decline so put back on it. Both mother and aunt had total spinal collapse long over a decade of their latter years, and sister with it too. I am upright and looking ok at

Today I feel worthless.
Having just watched the BBC’s Q&A before the daily update I can now say I feel worthless, expendable, disposable. Whatever word you want to use, I feel it. It seems that the updated guidelines say that if you have received a shielding letter in the past then going forward you will not be expected

Shoes that help???
I have found over the past few weeks that my legs ache more than usual. I had a partial knee replacement 14 weeks ago but have recovered remarkably well so I can't see how it can be that (especially as it effects both legs). I can walk 3 or so miles a day but my legs ache terribly afterward, specifically

Is it ok to take Quinine
Hi. I have suffered with RLS off and on for years and years but stretching my calf muscles seemed to fix it. Recently RLS has got much worse. I had complete knee replacement 12 weeks ago and all is good. About 10 days ago RLS flared up one night and I couldn’t get rid of it. I’ve now been taking
