Acid reflux
I've started getting acid reflux recently which was a surprise as I've always had a strong constitution. My GP prescribed a month's supply of Omeprazole which hasn't made any difference. I'm wondering if anyone knows of any dietary advice, websites, books that may help. I've also got rhinitis and have

Tumour found. Looking for stories of hope
About a month ago I started noticing that I was feeling my food travel down to my stomach more than I previously had. I have sarcoidosis so initially put it down to this, but after a fortnight of omeprazole having no effect I was scheduled for a scope which happened on Monday. Nurse who did it found

What could be the cause for my chest tightness/pressure?
For about 6 years I have felt this uncomfortable tightness or pressure in my chest. It's difficult to describe the location, but it's usually in the upper and middle part of my chest in a large area. The pain occurs out of the blue, it's never triggered by movement such as exercising, or food/drinks

Concern
Hi, my partner of 6 months is on 10mg of bisoprolol and I'm worried this is down to his weight gain, he needs to take these along with warfarin 5mg, dioxin 250mg and 20mg omeprazole, he works out and hardly eats and feeling like he's doing all this and losing the fight to keep weight off when he does

TSH Rising with increased dose of Levothyroxine?!
I was diagnosed in Jan 2015 with an underactive thyroid. My antibodies were checked at the time and nothing was of note. My TSH at the time was 25. The range is 0.2-5. Since Feb this year, my dose has changed and with each increase, my TSH has also increased! Feb 16 - TSH 1.9 (levo 50mg daily) July 16

WHEN to take your meds - conflicting interactions?
Please HELP! I have always taken my thyroid meds first thing in the morning, on an empty stomach, with at least 30mins - 1 hour before I eat or drink anything else other than water. I have now been given Omeprazole to protect my stomach from my anti-inflammatory tablets that I also need - and was told

Could an increased platelet count & clumping be asprin related?
I've been taking asprin daily since having a heart attack 11 years ago but have cut right back on it this past month or so because of stomach problems, I've had to stop taking naproxen completely. I had a blood test a few weeks ago which showed a borderline high platelet count plus clumping and was

Hiatus hernia
Just out of interest I would like to know how many of you out there also have acid reflux problems particularly associated with a hiatus hernia. I have a hiatus hernia and take omeprazole daily. I have researched this and fine that inflammation of the oesophagus can affect the left atrium. Also omeprazole

Levothyroxine, omeprazole, vitamin D, statins and painkillers...all tips welcome
Hello all. This is my first post. It is good to see a supportive 'forum' and it is already helping me think through my under active thyroid problems. I feel that I need a plan of action. I will now take my levothyroxine on an empty stomach. Next I will no longer take omeprazole. Now I will just continue

GERD - high or low stomach acid - that is the question?!
Suffered GERD and given Omeprazole - side effects of which were nausea, headache, confusion, dizziness. It cant be a coincidence that these side effects are also the symptoms of too LOW stomach acid and are therefore making the situation worse. it is difficult if not impossible to get a GP to agree

Thanks for all the advice you kind people have given. My new medication Esomeprazole, 20mg taken twice daily, gap made a huge difference. Can now eat a lot more things, as long as I'm armed with a big glass of water. Had a Oesophageal Manometry test done on Monday, so be interesting to hear results of
