Is Hashimoto's possible without weight gain?
Having recently been diagnosed with autoimmune disorder/Hashimoto's, I have done a little reading and was curious as to whether it's possible to actually have Hashimoto's but with the total opposite of the weight gain symptom? I tick a lot of the boxes, but weight gain seems a very, very common - almost

Feeling like I want to scream and have a proper tantrum
I rarely post a message but feel part of the community here, I have learnt lots and understand so much more than I did 6 years ago, that is due to all you wonderful people living with this difficult disease sharing yourselves - thank you I am so frustrated right now, I have been seeing a rheumy consult

Which tablets to use?
Hi everyone, I've just been diagnosed with a folate deficiency (2, range above 3). It could be diet related as I've recently been unwell and struggled to cook for myself, but equally might not be (For what it's worth I've had to take omeprazole for the last 13 months and coming off it isn't an option

GERD.
This question has most likely been asked before on the forum but I can't remember what the replies said. Can GERD cause your heart to miss/skip beats? Can a hiatus hernia cause ectopics? I know that medical advice can't be given, I'm just asking for forum members' experiences. I take 40mg of Omeprazole

Don't know what to do next!
I'm hesitant to post again because I don't want to be a nuisance. On the other hand I'm feeling low, confused and don't know what my next move should be. Being on and reading posts on this forum makes me feel like I'm not alone. I have symptoms every day and it certainly drags you down. Brain fog is

Chest/arm pain
So about three months back, I began experiencing chest pains, which was also felt in my arms. On my first visit to my GP, he listened to my heart, checked my blood pressure and also ordered an ECG. The ECG must’ve come back fine as he said it showed nothing up, so put it down to acid reflux, perhaps

Change in liver texture
I made a post just on the run down to xmas last year about the excruciating pain I get occasionally and always being told to use omeprazole. I changed doctors and she sent me for an ultrasound where they found gallstones and changes in liver texture. Please note I don’t drink (a glass occasionally)and

Worsening breathing problems due to B12 deficiency?
Hi guys, I've been having a number of symptoms for the past 4-6 months which have increasingly become worse. Most notably, I've had gastritis-like symptoms, including bloating, wind, stomach discomfort and reflux, which often comes with a sort of 'lump in the throat'/tightness in my throat that comes

My first post but sad news
My partner Veronica was diagnosed with stage 4 ovarian brca1 cancer in June of 2016. She had been having symptoms of shortness of breath and poor appetite and feeling bloated. The gp gave her an inhaler and some omeprazole to see if it helped, which it didn’t. She eventually had an ultrasound which revealed

I’m new here and have a question about Omeprazole. Does it contain wheat?
I have tried several times to contact the manufactuer “Mylan” and have had no success in actually speaking to a human being. I have emailed the company and the response is “they may get back with me”. Thank you for any help for my son who is allergic to wheat and daughter who is Celiac. MomR10.9

Upper back pain after transoesophageal echocardiogram and AF ablation
Hi folks, it's me again. I had my ablation last week, 4 September, and my heart has felt nice and steady since then. I know it's very early days. I also had a transoesophageal echocardiogram whilst under general anaesthetic. Initially I had a tender throat which has now resolved. The problem I

Low B12 but only given tablets
Hi all, I was recently discovered to have low B12 levels. I went to see the Dr with dizziness/vertigo, unilateral tingling in my face and some pins and needles in my back. I am a pescatarian who regularly used Omeprazole for the last few years. My B12 level was 138 pg/mL Folate 7.2 ng/mL (Which I believe

Aspirin with 20mg omeprazole - still causing bloating and now lower back pain issues
Hi all, new the forum. My haematologist has requested that I take 75mg aspirin daily ( for a MPN disorder, Myleofibrosis)with 20mg omeprazole to prevent stomach ulcers caused by aspirin. But I am suffering with bloating which is now causing lower back issues. Does anyone else have these problems

Taking Omeprazole with Levothyroxin
If I need to take Omeprazole when is best time to take Levothyroxine? I’ve tried to avoid taking Omeprazole but have lax oesophageal sphincter which I think is letting acid through.
