Phew. You may remember me from October and early November. I've been suffering a long exacerbation and been on steroids since 11th Oct. 2 admissions into hospital, came out 12 days ago. Still not better, but missed my consultant appointment while I was in hospital and got sent to the back of the queue

Has anyone here had an endoscopy done?
Hi everyone. I made a post a few weeks ago about going to A&E with abdominal pain. I had blood tests done at the time which revealed high liver enzymes. I went to an outpatient appointment yesterday where I spoke to a consultant for about 10 minutes. He asked a few questions and sent me for another blood

Non-PCa Prescription Drugs: Celebrex
Shortly before Dr. John Vane, the Nobel Prize winner, whose work contributed to the development of the COX-2 inhibitor drugs, died in 2004, he might have become aware that experts were predicting the demise of that entire class of drugs, following the withdrawl of Vioxx from the Market a few weeks earlier

Thyroid-friendly doctors
Good morning all - although not so good as feeling dreadful today, but hey-ho!! I have the thyroid.org list of doctors but don't understand how the system works. If I see one of these doctors privately and they agree to prescribe some type of medication which will help me, which my GP flatly refuses

Not the news I was expecting
It is a year ago today that I went for an endoscopy after many months of treatment for what my GP thought was a digestion problem. I would be prescribed omeprazole which helped. However swallowing became difficult and a referral was made for an endoscopy. Two days later we attended for the procedure.

how does everybody cope with the side effects of their medication?
Having a terrible day, it's probably the ton of medication and painkillers that my consultant prescribes me and then the other medication my GP had to prescribe on top of this to manage the side effects, I'm stage 1 endo, had excision surgery in August last year in a BSGE centre and for the past 6/7
