Hi, my partner of 6 months is on 10mg of bisoprolol and I'm worried this is down to his weight gain, he needs to take these along with warfarin 5mg, dioxin 250mg and 20mg omeprazole, he works out and hardly eats and feeling like he's doing all this and losing the fight to keep weight off when he does lose it, it's getting him down

Janey, I'm afraid that Bisoprolol does slow down the metabolic rate as many on here have found. This has led to them finding it more difficult to shift excess weight or maintain.

I've heard it said that the body adjusts in time. Meanwhile many have to put up with the lethargy this drug seems to cause. Perhaps worthwhile speaking to his GP to see if an alternative or maybe a reduced dose.

Hi Janey, I was only on 2-5mgs of Bisoprapol and I was like a zombie!

My GP lowered dose very quickly to 1-25mgs ( his father had not enjoyed the higher doses)

I'm fine on 1-25mgs but as is often said on here ,we are all different!

I was on 12.5 mg a day. I was a total zombie. My weight also went up on this drug, I tried to exercise but it was almost impossible
