At this point he’s 83, it’s in a few ribs, hip (he had hip replacement a few years ago), clavicle, base of skull, spinal areas, spots on lung and liver. I think i covered it all

Pred dose post hip operation
Hi, and thank you in advance to all who have the patience to read this long story, and the kindness to offer advice: I have so many things going on at the moment! Currently, PMR seems like the least of my problems, and I’m hoping I can ride the other medical turmoil I’m in without it raising it’s head

Hip Replacement while on treatment??
My husband, who is in a Clinical Trial at MDA for Richter's, needs a hip replacement badly - such that his severe arthritis is a bigger deal to his quality of life than the Richter's. He saw an orthopedic pain management specialist last week who had nothing to offer, stating that a steroid injection

Conundrum Gastrin
Hi everyone, does anyone have advice when trying to increase weight when diagnosed with Intestinal Metaplasia and Hyperplasia. I have been doing some research regarding the damage that Gastrin can do when it doesn't switch off (NET's tumours) because of low stomach acid and as the Gastrin is activated

3 weeks until superpath hip replacement
it’s becoming very real now! I need both hips replaced, my left is going first as only 10% mobility left even though my right is more painful. I have chosen Superpath to avoid muscle and tendon cut through all being well. A bit of a trek from Scotland to Leicester where there is an experienced surgeon

Hip replacement.
I have surgery booked for my right hip booked for 1st March. I'm having a dual mobility prosthesis as I have had lumbar surgery and I also have scoliosis and so am at greater risk of dislocation. Has anyone else had this, and did you have spinal or general anaesthetic when you have spinal problems.

Failing ADT
Hi- I thought I would seek some advice before I meet with my MO tomorrow morning. I have responded well to treatment of metPC since my dx 11+ years ago. About 2+ years ago my PSA became measurable and was rising. After about a year or so I think it reached .37. Following a PSMA scan, my MO saw only

Hip replacement date
Hello All, It’s been a long time since I’ve been on here, I finally got into sheltered housing last April & got a lovely little bungalow I’m over the moon with. It was in very good content with decent carpets curtains, and blinds left & got a decorating/other grant from the council that I wasn’t expecting

25th Park Run!
It may not seem like a big deal but it is to me. I couldn't walk til I was 4, have had 3 hip replacements and back surgery. I never ran before I was 69 and now I've done 25 Park runs. I'm feeling very proud of myself. I even knocked a minute off last week's time! It was a glorious morning. I just took

Weekly Chat 22 - 28 January: jinxed it 🙈🤷♀️🛋️
(Edited to clarify I didn't really think I needed a hip replacement - I just looked as if I was on a waiting list for one if you watched me trying to get going from a stop! Apologies for any overdramatisation leading to confusion 🙈) Hello lovely VRBs. How's your week been? We'd love to hear all about

Total Hip Replacement Decision
Hello Friends, I have ET-MPL 515L, and this is year 10 with the disease, and I am doing well thanks to Pegasys. I have been informed, due to arthritis, I need a total hip replacement. Those of us with MPN's are at increased risk of vertebrae and hip fractures, YIKES! In discussions with my Oncologist

Brain tumors galore, cushings disease
I was diagnosed with a Pituitary Tumour March 2023. It had caused Cushings Disease. Tumour removed 1st June 2023. Very successful and cured Cushings Disease - lots of symptoms resolved eg. lost 25 kilos (4 stone) in weight, quality of skin improved etc. Also discovered two other brain tumours - one

Fenofibrates
Someone asked if Dr. Jones' book mentioned the use of fenofibrates.... yes, it does in several places. This might be a good book to have if you are considering using them. He is the leading expert on PBC. Hope it helps... The subject is discussed in the chapter for 'Treatment of PBC'. Many have been

Hi & happy, healthy new year 🎉 Prev spoke with Slow Dragon 💝 was so grateful for the good advice back then. My Levothyroxine dose increased to 200 i had hoped it would help me loose some weight. No such luck and after recent blood test, I was told to reduce dose to 175. I feel fine, tbh no different
