Hip replacement

I would like to talk to people who have had a recent hip replacement, I had mine 3 weeks ago.

Are you on the correct forum though? This is for heart arrhythmias mainly. There is an arthritis forum on Health Unlocked.

This is an arrhythmia group so, as Jalia suggested, there is probably one on the Health Unlocked site that helps with orthopaedic matters............ unless, you mean how will a hip replacement affect your arrhythmia?

I was told last week that I need a hip replacement ASAP .

However I was also told the operation wouldn't be done until my AF is stable and Anticoagulants can be stopped temporarily .

I had an ablation in October which did not work, I am now taking Flecainide daily which is controlling the AF . I had really bad bleeding from the groin following the ablation which was scary and had to have 5 hours of applied pressure. I hope this bleeding doesn't occur during the hip replacement.

It will be interesting to see other replies.
