Aunty Bees Advent Calendar. Dec 16. Travelling with Chronic Pain. Like a Puppy , Pacing is for Life , not just for Christmas! And a quiz!
I have been working on a post of tips for travel today , but while I have been checking all my facts , my mind began to wander , as it does for Us all , flipping Brain Fog! At first the thought sprang to mind that I hoped that everybody knew that most of the tips and tricks that I was offering up behind

Not sure I should even be posting in this group now ☹️🙄
Well I have not run since October 16th now. First there was the nasty virus and chest infection that would not clear - over 7 weeks!!! And then the niggly hip pain that has been on and off since the summer but has got steadily worse not better. I’d had exercises to do - no better, painkillers-no help

Not the most pleasant of questions
I have cirrhosis and along with a multitude of other medication I take lactulose daily. Now as you may be aware one of the nice side effects of lactulose is flatulence, and I mean pretty much none stop. This is both embarrassing to me and irritating to my family, is there anything I can do? is it ok

Am I being over ambitious?
Since stopping work in July, I've been keen to get and stay fit as I age. I'm 63, am developing arthritis and had a hip replacement at age 53. I have just completed run 3 week 6. Amazingly it hasn't been too awful so far but I am getting so tired doing 3 runs a week. Should I just aim for 2 each week

HIV THROUGH KISSING BUT I BUSTED A LIP WHILE KISSING HIM
I was having sex with my friend (not fuck body; a legitimate friend) and we were kissing a little rough when he scratched my top lip. There was blood, I tasted blood, and I know it is my blood because I located the scratch. Is there any risk here? We both engage in sex with a male. I'm HIV negative.

Day 70 - The Jagged Reef
Over two months now, and believing I was heading into the deeper blue ocean towards the dawn of a bright future, I now encounter a reef which I need to circumvent. And to continue the metaphor; hitherto, there’ve been rocks, boulders, undulating terrane, clinging sand and weed, as well as the odd shark

Vitex and Myo inositol
Hi I have SLE over the past 9 years. I have PCOD and hormonal imbalance. I am trying to conceive for the past 3 years. But all the treatments failed. I tried IUI also. Now I am planning to take vitex and Myo Inositol supplements to cure hormonal imbalance. Is it good or bad to try them with lupus?

Hi, recovering after fall on holiday in Tenerife, had to have full hip replacement. Back home now but my question is after having 14 blood thinner injections into my stomach (alternate sides each night) I can feel a lump under my skin on my left side, is this normal, I can’t remember having this after

Docetaxel not working, fractured hip and pelvis
Hi- I haven't posted in a long time as I was doing OK. Aside from rising PSA, I now have pathologic fractures of hip and pelvis. Finally got to the point where I had to go on chemo, and now having passed third infusion had bone scan and CT scan of chest, pelvis. Chemo not working, and now have new

Hi! Two parts here..1.Have had Ibs for years, worse lately, a friend of mine a nurse who works for a gastroenterologist suggested Yakult in the morning..no cure but it certainly helps.2 to my horror I very occasionally don't get to the loo at home quickly enough...this means diarrhoea on the carpet!.

Blue badge success!
Thanks to the encouragement i got from this forum, i applied for a blue badge and today heard that i had got one! It may have been because I also have a hip replacement that went wrong leaving me a limp and resultant backache, but the extreme fatigue must have helped and i took your advice and mentioned

Help for joint pain and muscle cramps- what’s working for me….
I have had severe joint pain for many years now, mostly in my hips or leg joints. It has been so bad at times I thought I needed hip replacements. But the doctor check me out and said that is not the problem though she didn’t know what was. It has prevented me from being able to walk very much or stand

Day 50 - The Hot Dry Desert
I don’t really feel a hell of a lot of positive vibes atm. What with pain, pain meds etc. Ok, I can say I am continuing to lose weight, though I haven’t stepped on a set of scales since I went to my gym last Wed. Yes, I know it’s only the other day, but it feels like a month. I have the staples out this

New but old starter
Hi I’m 67 and new here. I am due to get my second hip replacement tomorrow- I would just so love to get some weight off to optimise the new joints function and increase their useful life I really don’t want to have to have revisions done in 10 years due to all the weight they have to carry. I have dieted

Newly diagnosed SeroNegative RA
I have just been diagnosed with SeroNegative RA - although awaiting some further xrays (inc neck and chest) and I think rheumatologist might also be checking for ankylosing spondylitis. I had a hip replacement 8 weeks ago following a a diagnosis of rapidly progressive osteoarthritis although it would
