Not the most pleasant of questions

I have cirrhosis and along with a multitude of other medication I take lactulose daily. Now as you may be aware one of the nice side effects of lactulose is flatulence, and I mean pretty much none stop.

This is both embarrassing to me and irritating to my family, is there anything I can do? is it ok to take “windcheaters” or similar?

I appreciate this may be a refer to your GP question but thought I would ask in case anyone else experiences similar joy.

Hi Chris,

Have you run this past your liver team? they will be best placed to advise the safest options to treat your flatulence.

best wishes

You're lucky then, l get sudden urges and by sudden, l mean I have soiled myself not moving fast enough to make it to the bathroom in time, due to lactulose.

Hey, i hope you are doing well now, the probiotics can help reduce flatulence as there are many reasons for excessive gas, it takes time to find the root cause, you should consult your doctor, meanwhile, you can also take the Fart pills, what I have heard and seen in youtube videos, these tablets works and can reduce the smelly flatulence and bloating. You can search for flatuscents on google.
