Hi! I was diagnosed with PMR two years ago,It was extremely painful and came on so fast!started with a stiff neck, within one week I couldn’t even turn around in bed.. couldn’t even lift my foot,my partner had to pull me out of bed. My doctor thought it was PMR but the specialist said no it can’t be PMR because I was only 48 years old.so he sent me rheumatology then they sent me to a specialist for muscles then I had bone scans body scan then another specialist but I was always in so much pain I thought you know what I have to do something I’m gonna heal myself soSeven weeks now I’ve had no sugar switch to decaf coffee only eat healthy food, porridge every morning,a plant based protein shake with full of vegetables and Tumerick flaxseed chi seeds cinnamon berries and two weeks ago I actually got off the prednisone and now I’m only taking 500 mg of anti-inflammatory once a day I can still feel pain but compare to 10 out of 10 that it was,it’s now two and somebody else mentioned that they thought they needed a hip replacement and I thought the same thing so my doctor sent me for an x-ray and they were fine, and then one time I was on crutches for a month because I thought I pulled my groin so I really think that healthy eating is the way to go!It feels so good not to be taken prednisone now because I end up having Bruce situs as well. I feel your pain ❤️

I'm pleased for you that you have been able to stop pred - but if only it were as easy for everyone as eating healthily!

The specialist was wrong of course - PMR doesn't take note of birthdays! And NICE have finally listened and changed the age to "over 40".

I wish you well - and hope it lasts.
