what has helped you? or what has not helped
I have had fibromyalgia since 2002 and have tried lots of therapies, pain management, CBT, hypnotherapy etc and have found things that help and lots that don't and I am wondering what has helped/not helped you. I am pretty much open to any new suggestion. thanks Irene

The light at the end of the tunnel is sometimes an oncoming train ...
I'm waiting on the blood results before I do anything, but he did suggest that I might want to swap my citalopram for amitriptyline, try
hydrotherapy
, visit the pain clinic, etc. Trouble is, I now have to try to explain to my boss that this isn't a 'nothing illness'.

Hypnotherapy feedback report
Well I tried Hypnotherapy as a cure for my anxiety. I attended 3 sessions before deciding that it wasn't for me. I have tried medication, CBT and have read about anxiety. I thought I would give hypnotherapy a try. I expected that the treatment would somehow get into my subconscious mind and reprogram

tiring of the battle, my life with anxiety
as a sufferer of anxiety and panic attacks since 1997 I have found it to be a long and hard battle. sometimes I gain ground but the ground I gain is always taken back and then some ! recently I have found myself weary of the battle with just a hint of a wish to fall asleep one night and not wake

Hydrotherapy today
Had my first session today. It was very pleasant in that lovely warm pool but the thoughts of having to do the excersises in the local feezing pool doesn't appeal. I would recommend it thought just for the lovely sensation of floating in a huge hot bath!!! Neck and shoulders very stiff tonight

Operation complete!
Hi Everyone Thanks to all of you for your best wishes prior to my hysterectomy/cancer clearing op at the Women's in Liverpool. I am sure that, added to all the other 'good vibrations' sent from family and friends, they enabled me to come through the op with flying colours.........well eventually

THANKS FOR REPLYING
I am a lucky lady though as I work in a
hydrotherapy
unit which amazingly I just decided to take the job cos it sounded nice and I felt better when I was warm! I didn't know I had fibro then! Nite nite and hope the weather warms up wherever you are and your pains subside. x

Can I go back to NHS for the stop smoking meds after i quit with them and started again! sad I know :(
I quit smoking in March and did three months pretty much smoke free by using the meds from the NHS. I did have the odd one at the start but when I did it wasn't nice, the meds were great at stopping the cravings but there were those times that I couldn't get out of the habit. I also experienced depression

Mind - Body Connection
Hello all, I'm a new member on this particular site and have found it interesting so far, I've not read all the blogs so please forgive me if I am repeating things :-) I think, most anxiety problems are usually from past negative experiences or from Significant Emotional Experience. I know about these

Hi there, I have just discovered the site and wanted to ask if anyone has had similar migraine experiences to me?
I have had migraine for 20+ years now. I usually get a right sided headache with pain in my right eye and tingling in the right side of my face. I also get the usual sickness etc. The problem is I clench my teeth at night which makes the whole thing worse. I get horrendous muscle pain in my head, neck

How Hypnotherapy Can Help Your Pelvic Pain
PT is at its most effective for treating pelvic pain syndromes when supplemented with other strategies. This blog post is dedicated to one such strategy: hypnotherapy. For the first order of business, I’d like to give you an explanation of what hypnosis is. Then, I’ll briefly take on the stigma surrounding

My teenager has just been diagnosed. Please help me!
I still dont really know what "it" is, how I can help her (they said she needs 50,000 units of vit D for 8 weeks and
hydrotherapy
). However, she is still having to take time off of school and is having to re-sit a year to do her A levels.

Endo and Anxiety/Panic disorder?
I was reading through some posts today and it occured to me that many of us with endo seem to suffer from some degree of anxiety disorder My panic attacks have totally incapacitated me. I had hypnotherapy for a few months a couple of years ago and it was brilliant - but as soon as I stopped the sessions

Does Hypnosis treatment work for Anxiety ?
My Anxiety was caused when I felt dizzy in a bar on a Sunday afternoon, I had only 1 drink but from that day onwards I feel anxious when going near a bar and cannot drink socially. I have been on on computer based CBT courses and have taken Mirtazapine. The feeling is still there when I enter places
