I have had hydrotherapy and now I have been put into a physio gym for back pain. My first session was yesterday (Friday 20th April) I didnt know what to expect. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Met another lady who has fibro there.

She stated that my GP should have made the original referral lre my RA to Souhtmead if I want hydrotherapy and all in all was nasty. At the end of the day (and I'm sure many of yourselves would feel similar).

The warmer temperatures over the last week have made me realise how much better a bit of sunshine makes me feel (although it's a return to the hat, scarf and three pairs of gloves this weekend!). Hydrotherapy is the complementary therapy with the best level of evidence behind it for its use as treatment for Fibro. I certainly find warm baths and showers helpful for pain, especially I incorporate some stretches with time in the water. 5.

I would recommend hydrotherapy for anyone with fm/cfs/me/ms I had a lovely time exercising in the water. I have hydrophobia!!!! but I went in the deep end and held onto the bar and "cycled"... I also bobbed about a bit! YAY ME!!

I asked him about my shoulder and if i could have hydrotherapy cos i want to get back to work.! He said WHOA!!

I had my second session of hydrotherapy today. I don't think the physiotherapist understood what fibromyalgia is. It was evident when he said, And which part of your body hurts. I worked out the whole body. Now I am suffering

Physiotherapy, hydrotherapy, counselling and nutritionists may be available on the NHS: check with your GP. Occupational therapy and exercise programs may be available through your local social services, but again your GP should know of such schemes if you ask.

I've been feeling quite sad, but not depressed, the last week. I suppose part of it is feeling sorry for myself, but I have been sad that my Mum can't visit at the moment because her Menieres disease has started playing up again.
