edoxaban and hip replacement.
I’m a 66 year old woman, due to have a complete
hip
replacement
in late Feb - have been looking forward to it for months. Always considered myself to be very fit and healthy. However, 8 weeks ago I found myself in A&E with a self-limiting episode of AFib, which lasted maybe 45 mins.

UPDATE ON HIP REPLACEMENT SURGERY
Hello everyone, I had my
hip
replacement
surgery a week ago today. It went well. I went into the theatre at 9 am and in the recovery room at 11 am. I spent 5 hours in recovery because they had to discharge patients and sanitise the beds and wards so newly operated on patients could have a bed!

I broke my hip 2 years ago and walked around on it for 6 months before I got to the stage I couldn’t get out off bed so I called the dr and she refused to come out so I called an ambulance and two days later had a partial

time to commit to something
I am on the waiting list for a revision
hip
replacement
& my right
hip
is now giving me a lot of bother as well. I feel that losing weight would help a lot but I have tried so many plans & after a short time I give up.

Post total knee replacement
Anyone who has had a total knee
replacement
had more pain in the
hip
area than the knee. Having a job to keep my knee straight at night as keep waking up every hour with tremendous pain in the hip and end up getting up and having a walk round. It's inhibiting my physio as well.

Swelling After Hip Replacement
Hi, My husband had a 2nd
hip
replacement
2 weeks ago. His leg is extremely swollen , is very uncomfortable and not improving. It is not thrombosis as that was checked a few days ago when the physiotherapist registered concern.

running after hip replacement contd 3
After a break of about three weeks due to a cold I have just completed week4 again and am starting it for a third time. I'm being ultra cautious and keeping a close eye on the twinges I am getting in my thigh muscles. It feels very much like the muscles that worked so hard to protect my hip when it was

surgery
I’m having
hip
replacement
next month. I’m remember some people mentioning the terrible horrific severe RLS from surgical pre op meds. Nothing could scare me more than awakening from surgery having uncontrollable RLS. Can’t imagine how hard that would be.

Weaning off painkillers
Had
hip
replacement
6 weeks ago.On 1000mg paracetemol and 60mg codeine 4 times a day pain relief. Had no advice about how long I should take this medication or how to manage coming off it. Would love a drink at Christmas. How long should I be on painkillers and can I get off them this week?

Dosage and skin damage
It would be really helpful if folk were able to put up the dosage that they are on when communicating, I try to assess what is happening with so many awful side effects.I have been on prednisolone for several years and got down to 4mg last January when having a
hip
replacement

running after hip replacement contd 2
About a month ago I wrote about starting to run again after a
hip
replacement
in February. It had gone well and starting at week 4 I did three runs before coming down with a nasty cough and cold (not Covid!) that laid me low.

Accident
Was transferred to a ward by 9 and then two days later had partial
hip
replacement
. It was an interesting experience as I was found to have a streptococcous infection ,so was being treated for that ,in a private room, as well as my scleroderma and hip. Most of the staff were wonderful.
