Can no longer get Mercury brand levothyroxine.

Other brands have fillers in which give me diarrhea. Been to every pharmacist in my area. All only seem to stock Accord.

My tummy so bad now I am practically housebound. In despair - on list to get replacement hip, how is that going to happen? Also surely I am going to be poorly nourished if food goes through me so fast.

I didn’t realise this was your first post. Sorry you didn’t get an earlier welcome.

Most posts are answered quickly, it’s unusual they get missed.

Perhaps if you edit the title of your post so include mercury brand issue those with very recent information may notice it.

Ask doctor to repeat thyroid function, you will likely need this prior to surgery. If you explain you have concerns from brand making you unwell.

TSH, FT4 & FT3. Also important to test folate, ferritin, B12 & vitamin D.

If you get your prescription written for Eltroxin, then they are forced to supply it. (Eltroxin in the UK is absolutely the same product as Advanz/Mercury Pharma levothyroxine.

My prescription says only Mercury Pharma so have been having Accord. This time MP back again. Don’t give up.
