HGV license after valve replacement?
Hi all, So a year and a half ago I had valve replacement surgery where I had a mechanical valve fitted. Im on a couple of different meds like warfarin and some beta blockers. But I'm back to 100% now and I'm looking at getting my HGV license as I'm pretty young and it's something I've always wanted

Extreme fatigue 2 years after valve replacement
Three years ago I had atrial valve replacement and double bypass. Two years ago, following infective endocarditis, I had the replacement valve changed and a patch in my heart. And a pacemaker fitted. I have been well since but in the last month I have started to get breathless (not too bad) and extreme

Zoladex and HRT
I was diagnosed with endo in 2021, it was removed from my abdominal wall but my pain never fully left. Just 4 months later my symptoms returned and the pain was as bad as it was pre-op. Here I am, 19 months later in significant daily pain. I am signed off sick from work for the 3rd week, and it seems

Limited Scleroderma, Autoimmune issues, thymoma, metal implants in joints
I'm wondering if anyone has limited scleroderma and autoimmune issues, AND have had to have metal implants in any joint due to failed fractures? In May 2022 I stupidly tripped over my dog, fell heavily flat on my front onto a concrete floor, fractured my left kneecap and left wrist (radius). Both fractures

advice/opinions please
over the last few years my TSH has always been outside reference range. The GP has normally said borderline. They have usually been 4.5 and higher but less than 10. Last year in March was 5.3, borderline. Then I had a repeat in June 2022 and it came back as 3.4 no further action which was highly unusual

Security Scanners
I have had two unicompartmental knee replacements. Am I likely to set off security alerts going through scanners etc? If so, should I tell security first before I go through the arch?

Update and Feeling Kicked…..
Thank you to everyone who helped me with my last post on this board regarding DNR. I’m relieved to say that my father was released and is possibly back on track to regain some of the weight lost at hospital. Still waiting to hear if it’s lymphoma. As for me I am feeling kinda kicked down this week.

propranolol
hello. I had an awful anxiety attack that started on Sunday. I used to have them in the past as well as depression but taking sertraline 3 times a week helped keep things under control. I’m menopausal and on HRT and I think it’s related. I spoke to a GP who prescribed propranolol for the physical symptoms

Red nose after Raynaud’s diagnosis
Morning all 😀 I was diagnosed with Raynaud’s last winter and have since been experiencing horrible nose and cheek issues. m when I get hot or if I eat hot food my nose and cheeks pulsate and go bright red. It then goes almost back to normal as I cool down!! this has left me with a redder than normal

Femseven conti patches
Hi,Has anyone been prescribed femseven conti patches? I've been prescribed these by the nurse at the GP surgery as an alternative to evorel as they were making me bleed and my anxiety was really bad. I've read on the packet they could increase fibroids so not sure I should be taking them. I'm on 3

Higher pulse than average
I’m quite fit but am feeling as though I’ve run a marathon - heart rate up and air hungry . I have UAT and take Armour Thyroid. I’ve reduced the dose from 1 grain am and pm to 1 am and 1/2 pm but it hasn’t made any difference. This has been happening for about two weeks now. I also take HRT, vitamin

Zoledronic acid infusion for osteoporosis- I have to consider this
My bones were fine A few months later I had a
hip
replacement
and the surgeon told me that while the joint was knackered, the bone taken out was good quality bone. This for me is enough evidence that it was working. Forward to age 66.

W&W, Sepsis, Pneumonia,Cellulitis, FEVERS ! - ???
Had my first visit to the Hematologist . He was patient, he was kind , he was very informative and most important to me , he asked me what my questions and concerns were. Unlike a lot of doctors I worked with as a nurse , ( who MANY have seemed to have lost their Sensitivity chip ) , he was full

Cirrhosis diagnosis
I have recently been diagnosed with cirrhosis following abnormal blood test and fibroscan. I am a non drinker, with a BMI 22.3. The specialist says I am one of the 5-7% of people with a fatty liver but not over weight and probably hereditary. This has come as a shock. I only had a blood test because
